Agatha Christie does not disappoint with a captivating plot. The acting and sound effects reminded me of the reruns of old radio programs I listened to as a kid. It is a wonderful production.

I liked how the author breaks down and analyzes modern child rearing techniques. This is an essential book to read before you read any other parenting book!

She also takes apart such books as The Body Keeps the Score. I read that book, and I felt that Mrs. Shrier did an excellent job of tearing down that argument. She also does a great job of exposing so many of the multitude of psychology and parenting landmines facing families today.

I do wonder how you can truly isolate your kids from technology and it's influences when every other kid has it. But it is good to have the danger identified, and that she does well.

Tolkien drew me into his imaginary world to where I felt the joys, sorrows, and struggles of each character. He makes his world compelling. It's hard to believe it's a fairy tale.

Andy Serkis does a masterful job with the voices and the poetry. Well done!

Vivid scenes and excellent plot twists

Forester has a way of twisting the plot so that you don't know where he will lead his characters next. Hornblower is placed in a ship with a captain that has it out of his lieutenants, Hornblower being one of them. Forester makes you feel the pain these lieutenants feel as they are roughly treated. Later, the crew is facing off the Spanish in the Caribbean, and the Spanish have the upper hand. Forester artfully takes his characters through these trials and will keep you from guessing the next turn in the plot.

For descriptions, he paints the scenes with the ocean, ship, and characters in vivid, memorable language. It is a well written book.

When it comes to explaining salvation, you can hardly do better than reading this book by St. Athanasius. He is truly St. Athanasius the Great.
