An absurd episode
Reviewed: 08-15-21
In an otherwise excellent series, this episode is a departure from reason. Rees makes some wild stretches, claiming Trump would love to become a sort of military supreme leader. The Trump administration defended 2nd Amendment rights and cut taxes and onerous regulations, promoted school choice and the right to try medical solutions. These actions were taken to empower citizens and reduce government overreach. These are not the actions of a dictator. He spoke out against optional military actions and supported the rights of states to pursue their own responses to the pandemic, avoiding federal mandates that impose one-size-fits-all measures. Rees thinks Trump supporters are blind followers and yet it is the current administration that is enacting policies that defy common sense and erode freedoms. I love this series, but this episode is awful.
