I freaking adore this book...it's perfect.

I can't believe that I hesitated reading this wonderful... beautiful... charming tale. The world building and attention to detail bring this magical place and those who reside there to life and love...it's nearly impossible to not fall in love with the characters and the many complex relationships between them. Our heroine is feisty... clever and fierce with everything she does... even if at times she seems reckless. That's what love can and will do to even the biggest toughest and fearless fae who inhabit their wonderful home...a love story about the beautiful girl and her beast... just the right amount of action... romance... and the perfect amount of spice...I don't think I can capture the enjoyment I found in this book...and the narrator...such a wonderful performance...my hats off to the author and the narrator... perfection! Can't wait for the next book in the series.

i really enjoyed it but. I can't help believing it could have been so much better. The ending was wonderful and bizarre. The build up felt somewhat anti climatic. The author is a master of description and I found myself at times holding my breath. Overall I definitely recommend it to my fellow horror obsessors. Dive right in and buy this haunted house story.

First things first...I can say without a doubt Grady Hendrix has joined my list of favorite authors... right up there with Anne Rice and Stephen King...I absolutely loved this book...the family of characters were so easy to relate to... get angry with and I became very attached and protective of...The way this book walks us through the stages of grief and breaks our heart over and over again...the scares are real and terrifying all at once... I'll say it again I love this book...it's clever and campy and all together wonderful...I can't say enough praise for this book...go out and get it ASAP... you won't regret it.

After finishing this wonderful book I was reminded of how much I adore historical fiction...it may not always be my first choice but I am rarely disappointed...I have had this book on my TBR for a long time and I am so pleased to have finally read it....it's a beautifully written story of love... life and loss with a murder mystery in the mix...the author's ability to paint a picture of a wonderful hidden world among the trees and the Marsh makes it the perfect place for a mystery and a romance and it's many many more things than just a story...I don't want to go on and on forever and give away any spoilers... but it is safe to say I loved this book and it is absolutely deserving of the hype surrounding it...if you have this one in your TBR don't waste another second and read it.... you won't regret it.

I really enjoyed this book...it's nostalgic and full of 80's music and style...I really liked how it was scary and funny at the same time... for anyone who has ever had a best friend...if you have then you know what it means to say that you would do anything to help and protect them... that's how the friendship between Abby and Gretchen made me feel... to be devoted and protective of your loved one...a unshakable bond put to the test...and not just any test but a spiritual battle for their souls....the story here is a wild...campy adventure not to be missed...I for one will be reading more books written by Grady Hendrix from now on!!
