Story
You've seen the headlines: Parmesan cheese made from sawdust. Lobster rolls containing no lobster at all. Extra-virgin olive oil that isn't. Fake foods are in our supermarkets, our restaurants, and our kitchen cabinets. Award-winning food journalist and travel writer Larry Olmsted exposes this pervasive and dangerous fraud perpetrated on unsuspecting Americans.

Wow, there's a lot of great information and data here. As an audio book it is daunting to follow. I hope there is an accompanying PDF to help focus the audience on the some do and don't points made through out.

Story
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

Such an insightful story of our culture, middle to lower economic struggles, family and how just a few inspirational people and family members can change the trajectory of a life. And now J.D. can add the opportunity of being the Vice President of the USA. Valuable read. We can overcome and improve our lives with accountability, support, education and reflection for all of our choices.

Great "Who Done it" and well placed story location
Reviewed: 06-27-24
The characters and location were well entwined with a bit of a surprise ending. The narrator did a pretty darn good job on different voices or accents per person as needed but completely had a miss on the Spanish accent. It sounded Russisn/Slavic. Very intriguing storyline. Listen to it every chance I had. very enjoyable and entertaining.

Story
Don't waste your pain. None of us escapes the heartache and disappointments of life. To live is to hurt, and we all have the wounds to prove it. Regardless of how we've been hurt, we all face a common question: What should we do with our pain? Should we stoically ignore it? Should we just "get over it"? Should we optimistically hope that everything will work out in the end? If we fail to respond appropriately to the wounds that life and relationships inflict, our pain will be wasted; it will numb us or destroy us.

He may be a pro-football defensive end for the Chicago Squalls, but the press only wants to talk about how he’s always a groomsman and never a groom. Bartender Abigail McNerny is the gal-pal, the wing-woman, the she-BFF. Abby is convinced no one on earth could ever entice her into a romantic relationship...except that one guy she’s loved since preschool.

A Must Listen as Citizens of USA
Reviewed: 09-15-22
Many thanks to RFK Jr. and all those who assisted this effort. This book storylines,, so all can understand, with fact back up, the reasons we find ourselves, as a nation, in our current landscape of such division and contrast. At times I felt overwhelmed and powerless, and yet more often I felt inspired for all the time and energy and explanation by RFK, Jr. that " we the people " have the power to change the course we are on now. We've all been duped. This book shines a light on the areas of corruption attacking our democracy. It's a great listen all be it the narrator's voice takes a bit getting used to, in the end and for the amount of material covered, the voice style helps to remain factual. Highly recommend.
