Story
Fifteen-year-old Ilya arrives in Louisiana from his native Russia for what should be the adventure of his life: a year in America as an exchange student. But all is not right in Ilya's world: He's consumed by the fate of his older brother, Vladimir, the magnetic rebel to Ilya's dutiful wunderkind, back in their tiny Russian hometown. Just before Ilya left, the murders of three young women rocked the town's usual calm, and Vladimir found himself in prison. With the help of Sadie, who has secrets of her own, Ilya embarks on a mission to prove Vladimir's innocence.

Couldn't Stop Listening
Reviewed: 04-16-19
This is one of those books you either can’t put down or can’t wait to pick back up anytime you get a spare minute—not something that happens very often! Lydia Fitzpatrick paints such intimate and personal portraits of each character—Ilya and Vladimir especially—and through Ilya’s eyes we experience the magnetism and heartbreak of addiction in those we love and the helplessness and determination that can accompany it. Lights All Night Long transports us to tiny forgotten places on the map—giving us a glimpse into life in small town Russia and rural Louisiana. With language that is often arrestingly beautiful, Fitzpatrick kept me listening from beginning to end. The narration is phenomenal—kudos to Michael Crouch for a stellar performance.

Story
English anthropologist Andrew Bankson has been alone in the field for several years, studying the Kiona river tribe in the territory of New Guinea. Haunted by the memory of his brothers' deaths and increasingly frustrated and isolated by his research, Bankson is on the verge of suicide when a chance encounter with colleagues, the controversial Nell Stone and her wry and mercurial Australian husband, Fen, pulls him back from the brink. Nell and Fen have just fled the bloodthirsty Mumbanyo and, in spite of Nell's poor health, are hungry for a new discovery.

Chapter after chapter, Euphoria keeps you listening, offering a mesmerizing glimpse into the world of the tribes of the Sepik river, and the loneliness, lust, and ambition of 3 anthropologists who live among them. Lily King brings it all to life in this beautifully written novel.
