Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I wasn't sure about this book
Reviewed: 02-04-22
I wasn't sure about this book at first, the beginning threw me off...lots of thick sciencey stuff and too much focus on butt tubes - but WOW did it get good! I LOVED it...I haven't stressed over a story in so long! I actually paid attention to the science they were doing because I CARED about the characters so much and I wanted them to succeed! The audio book performance is AMAZING - but I don't think I can say more without spoiling my favorite character In the book. Thank you Andy Weir!

Great world building, great characters, but I feel like nothing happened. I spent the entire book waiting for something to happen and i'd say TWO things happened toward the end that will likely lead somewhere if there is another book but I didn't have fun reading! :(

Story
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Story
In Garner County, girls are told they have the power to lure grown men from their beds, to drive women mad with jealousy. That’s why they’re banished for their 16th year, to release their magic into the wild so they can return purified and ready for marriage. But not all of them will make it home alive. Sixteen-year-old Tierney James dreams of a better life - a society that doesn’t pit friend against friend or woman against woman, but as her own grace year draws near, she quickly realizes that it’s not just the brutal elements they must fear.

Performance fantastic , story OK!

The performance of this story by Emily Shaffer is fantastic! If you're not sure you want the audio book version, I highly recommend it! She reads relatively fast compared to many other audio books, and does an AMAZING job doing voiced for everyone but ESPEIALLY all the girls! You know right away what girl is talking and how she is feeling. As for the story, I got recommended this book as a hunger games x lord of the flies x Handmaiden's tale combo- and I think that's entirely true - but it wasn't the parts of those books I was expecting! The narrator kept going away from all the parts I was most interested in seeing!!! But the narrator is tough and brave. If you're interested in this book at all, I think you should give it a chance!

Story
It has a dark past - one in which a number of humans were killed. A past that caused it to christen itself "Murderbot." But it has only vague memories of the massacre that spawned that title, and it wants to know more. Teaming up with a Research Transport vessel named ART (you don't want to know what the "A" stands for), Murderbot heads to the mining facility where it went rogue.
