Story
Ezekiel J. Emanuel, a professor of medical ethics and health policy at the University of Pennsylvania who also served as a special adviser to the White House on health-care reform, has written a brilliant diagnostic explanation of why health care in America has become such a divisive social issue, how money and medicine have their own American story, and why reform has bedeviled presidents of the left and right for more than one hundred years.

The single most important book I've read.
Superb descriptions and discussion of basic yet critical behaviors responsible for the lion's share of today's interpersonal problems. Covers principles that are so simple and so true that they are often missed and can go unaddressed for one's life span.

Story
Al Franken, Giant of the Senate is a book about an unlikely campaign that had an even more improbable ending: the closest outcome in history and an unprecedented eight-month recount saga, which is pretty funny in retrospect. It's a book about what happens when the nation's foremost progressive satirist gets a chance to serve in the United States Senate and, defying the low expectations of the pundit class, actually turns out to be good at it.

Fun, but less insightful than I expected. Though I must admit this is more a problem with my expectations that it is of the book.
