I know some did not appreciate the world building buy I enjoy it. I like the vivid details of the planet and seem like a nice set up for other stories emerge. it could use some more hot sex scenes, I am here for that all day lol. the story plot is solid and I would read the rest of the series to see how the other stories unfold. Ares and calixa were a perfect match.

Story
Minalan the Spellmonger has come a long way since he woke up to a goblin invasion almost a decade ago. Since then, he has built cities and mighty armies, invented new enchantments, and pioneered entirely new fields of magic. Now that the Witch Queen of Darkfaller has taken over one of the most powerful castles in the center of the kingdom, he has to marshal all his resources—political, military, and arcane—to try to drive her from the strategic and symbolically important stronghold.

just when I think I know where the story is going, something out of left field come out. terry mancour has delivered another success. I am excited and dreading the ending, but I think it will be satisfying. Minalan is a man you can get behind , he is real and relatable. well done

Anna is ungrateful, she survived and was a princess but ignore her own choice in the matter. ika is an ass, eve deserve so much better. the story irked my soul. Anna was too entitled and her anger did not make sense to me. Anna should be the villain here not eve, she waste her life for nothing. they never suspect. it ended nice i guess. that octopus is very canny. they all got their just desserts. I'm interested in reading the second book.

As the crises in the heart of the kingdom grows, Minalan is tasked to force the so-called Witch Queen of Darkfaller from her new stronghold using any means necessary. the science is impeccable, the story telling brilliant. I enjoyed the jumping around of life times. the concept of time and space has led me down a pleasant rabbit hole of thought. Harry found his purpose, and I was glad he was not callus, not a righteous man, not a bad man but just a man. living his many lives, finding his true self in a way. I can appreciate that. very good read. one of faves right now.

It is the price of concealing their strange and dangerous family secret. But two events threaten to upend their lives forever. all I can say is the MVP of this story was the dog will and aunt Charlotte. Barry Anne need a back bone. I was screaming at her the whole time. she is too weak. all I could scream is " shoot the f**ker". if it was my baby I would not give a warning, just shoot. Will is just unreal. I know women in the 50s were not like today's woman but damn it. like the idea that magic is intuitive and nature bound. make sense to me. alright book and story
