Gangster Fairytale Romcom?

I'm not sure what I was expecting but this wasn't it. I liked it enough to keep listening to the end. This book is nowhere near realistic if you like fantasy it's for you. The male narrator was awesome! Female was ok, mostly annoying when she was portraying the daughter, nails on a chalkboard.

I am more than halfway through the book and I could not wait to write this down. I have listed to many many books in this genre and I have never turned my head for the side eye attitude so much in one book! I hope woman are not this stupid, but they say truth is stranger then fiction which leads me to believe it very well may be.
I am not going to give any spoilers but if the characteristics of dumb women falling over a disrespectful man makes your blood boil this may not be the book for you. Disrespect makes for good drama though :) I love and hate this book at the same time. One of the narrators was super annoying but I moved past it since I needed to know how this ended!

Jamaican Me Crazy
Reviewed: 08-01-19
My first listen to a Jamaican book with full accents being performed. I had to Google a few phrases. I liked the book, it just seemed unrealistic to me even for a book. It has me confused if I liked it or not? This chick DD sounded a lot like me in my single years, I was in love with a new dude at every kiss ! Oh there were so many curse words and I'm not one to say that but every sentence had a curse word, even Jamaican words ahahah! I learned a little Jamaican on this one.

Love this series! Non-stop drama
Reviewed: 04-30-19
I am listening to this series in order. First I will say I absolutely love this book/series. Reading the synopsis of the book I feel a little let down. It wasnt really about Tashara and Lashelle battle. Now if they would have said Alice and Mayballene aka Ms Peaches then that would have made sense. If you were looking for what I thought would be a battle of Tashara and Lashelle then this is not the book... Either way it is a significant part of the book series with Mason - Fat Ace and Python-Terrell. Oh and what is up with the last 2 hours and the word Peppered! When an author gets stuck on a word it really irritates me especially if i hear it every 10 minutes. Everyone was Peppering kisses!!! silly I know but still got under my skin :)

Would you consider the audio edition of Gone Girl to be better than the print version?
I did not read the print version but I would have to say this was a great listen.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Gone Girl?
Without giving it away... I can not mention it.... No spoilers here! The twist and turns and the u turns and the one ways and the detours ... You think one thing and a page later you are like what the....!
Which scene was your favorite?
Why are these reviews asking questions to give the book away??? My favorit scene is a spoiler!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not at first, slow to start... but after a few chapters I could not get enough! Listening in shower, car, at work, everywhere!
Any additional comments?
This book was one of the most psychotic books I have loved, listening to it I kept thinking of the shining... Not that this book is ghostly/haunted just the behavior of the characters.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
The Narrator, I could not get passed his voice. I could not pay attention to him or follow him for some reason.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
NEVER MADE IT!
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Michael Tudor Barnes?
Anyone who does not sound like Hannibal. I guess I am spoiled because I have listened to a lot of books with really good narration, I tried really hard to because I wanted to "read" this book. I could not get passed this guys voice, not many tones just one deep accent. I really did listen to the first 30 min 3 times and all I remembered is a girl getting excited about a guy who wanted to meet her but it was a secret. And the cop it was her first day on the new job! That is it that is all I got.
Did The Wire in the Blood inspire you to do anything?
Yes, download another book and give up on this one.
Any additional comments?
I did not give it 1 star because I never finished, I dont like to give bad reviews especially if I dont finish. But if you have a hard time following audiobooks because of a narrator I would not recommend.

Would you listen to Seduced in the Dark again? Why?
I would absolutely listen to this book again. It is VERY erotic, a twisted love story, and intense suspense!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Seduced in the Dark?
When Caleb got Celia! OH NO!!!! I was ready to reach in the book and kill him! Poor Kitten had to sit there and watch! There were so many memorable moments though.
What about Emily Durante’s performance did you like?
LOVE LOVE LOVE all her voices. You knew just who was talking, sometimes when I hear a speaker continue to say "she said" "he said" It really gets to me for some reason. But with Emily she did not have to use those words, she had a different voice for all the characters.
Any additional comments?
This was a awesome book. It had everything in it. A lot of Erotica, suspense and romance well twisted romance. I loved it! I normally have been listening to just mystery suspense and wanted to change it up a bit, this book was just the right thing. It has even spiced up things in my bedroom :)

Prosecuting attorney in the Manson trial Vincent Bugliosi held a unique insider's position in one of the most baffling and horrifying cases of the 20th century: the cold-blooded Tate-LaBianca murders carried out by Charles Manson and four of his followers. What motivated Manson in his seemingly mindless selection of victims, and what was his hold over the young women who obeyed his orders? Now available for the first time in unabridged audio, the gripping story of this famous and haunting crime is brought to life by acclaimed narrator Scott Brick.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes very much, if you think you know about the Manson Killings even if you were alive during them you know nothing!
Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, But I intend to find more, I love his voice.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
How 44 years later people are still interested in him!
Any additional comments?
Hearing only the major parts of the Manson story in general stories/ made for tv movies you do not get the entire case. Vincent did a fabulous job on writing this book. Even though you know the outcome and basically the main events he keeps you on the edge of your seat! There are so many characters usually I get confused when there are more then 4 but he did a fantastic job of reviewing who the people were and their part in "the family". 26 Hours of a book I would normally be looking forward to the next book by the 15th hour. Not this one :) Download it and enjoy!

Would you try another book from Karin Slaughter and/or Shannon Cochran?
Yes only because I really Like Will...
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
Interesting? Least interesting? Old women you can not keep them down!
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
Her Mexican / Texan accent was not needed, almost annoying.
Was Fallen worth the listening time?
Not really... I tried to return it but the website was not working right... so i went thru it with the thoughts of my next book ready and waiting!
Any additional comments?
Maybe its me... I did not like the book, I am not big on drug, gangs etc... I love suspense books though. This book had no suspense, but it had a lot of characters who I got crossed and confused about.
If you listen to books and do something else - like crafts or even dishes you may need to rewind a lot!
The ending was blah... Probably because I was really not into it.
All the low reviews I agree with...
Im glad I got through it :) OK, not horrible...
