Engaging, sweet and oh so smart!
Reviewed: 10-27-23
Dolly says so much about herself and her life in her down home way that you feel it’s just the two of you chatting away but there’s always a bit of mystery to her and that makes her even more interesting. I grew up with her music and have always loved her kind heart. Not a huge fan of the different format of interviewer - it felt
Like it was supposed to be a documentary but didn’t quite reach that goal; but it kept the story rolling.

Story
Alesh and his companions managed to survive Aldrick’s betrayal, defeating the nightlings and driving them back out of the city, but their troubles are just beginning. For there are other traitors in their midst, hiding in the shadows, and while they should be preparing for the approaching enemy army, Alesh and the others are forced to scour the city in search of them. Meanwhile, Sonya and the Broken flee the enemy encampment, hounded by Argush’s soldiers. But Sonya is just a child, the Broken is wounded, and their hunters are closing in.

Suspenseful
Reviewed: 07-23-23
The suspense is so well crafted. Even though, as a reader, you believe you know what comes next, there’s often a twist you didn’t see coming. The narrator uses his voice subtly to introduce the various characters yet never fully ‘draws’ them allowing you, the reader, to form your own image of them engaging you in the tale. So ready for the next in this series.

Story
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Death got a makeover
Reviewed: 05-29-23
Zachary Quinto’s vocal performance was perfect for this murder mystery a la sci-fi tale. The focus is never lost in the narrative and the secondary characters are filled out enough to get a good visual image. The dialog gives the reader just enough information to question one’s beliefs yet to also affirm any belief one may have. I’d like to read more of this character Anthony Valdez.

Good descriptions of grand battle scenes. Characters were realistic. I’ve really enjoyed the series. Good escapist read.

I enjoy stories told with different voices and a separate narrator. This series has me beguiled.
