Found the vulgarity distracted from the story m, which itself lacks self-awareness and depth.

Disappointed the dramatization ended halfway through. Should not have been listed as part of the readings without saying as much.

A wonderful mix of biography, science and art analysis. Would have given 5 stars to the performance but for one glaring mispronounciation: Ingres. Hardly an obscure name in the history of art.

…An audio version without the referenced photos and drawings is perforce less useful. The reading is clear, but the pronunciation of foreign words (and there are very many) ranges from not great to downright wrong.

I had just finished a highly rated (in Audible) but extremely disappointing celebrity autobiography, when I started Cumming’s story. What a difference! A truly insightful, honest journey into a background one would never have suspected of this talented artist.
Highly recommended.

The reading was an inspired ensemble of characters. Will definitely look for other books narrated by Ms Dawson.
Story could make a good film.

Initially interesting, but lapses into plain old vulgarity as his fame grows. If you know his standup comedy you may expect it, but if you know him from his PG movies you’ll find it disturbing.

Almost unbearable to listen to. One has to wonder that the author has allowed this to be read in such a manner, unless he truly hates the French from every angle, because that's the impression one gets from the reading.
