What does Rupert Degas bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I honestly don't think there are words to express what richness and depth Rupert Degas' character voices brought to this audio book. Such amazing range and authenticity, I was totally and utterly lost in his narration.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait for the next in the series to be turned into an audio book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Not only is the story totally absorbing, but the narration is the best I have ever heard. Rupert Degas is amazing, with so many rich and wonderful voices, and I did not want it to stop. I am delighted that there is another book in the pipeline, and can't wait until Mr Degas brings it to life again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Impossible to choose, so many memorable characters within this series of books.

Struggling to listen to the Narrator

What made the experience of listening to Hereafter the most enjoyable?

I'm enjoying the premise of the story, but the whiney, 'like, oh my god, like, whatever' kind of pseudo teenager voice that the narrator uses is really making it hard to actually listen.

Would you be willing to try another one of Emily Eiden’s performances?

Not if her voice is naturally like the one used in this book. She even has the same whiney voice for the male characters in the book. Ironically, there are sections of narration where the whine does not exist, so why its switched on so heavily for 90% of the story, god only knows.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I'm still listening, so can't give a full review, and I'm not sure that I'll be able to listen much longer, so might have to switch to the kindle version.
