Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Another great collaboration by great storytellers. The characters are believable. The pace never lags. I lived through the era described, and this brings back the nwnories.

FBI agent Patti Rogers finds herself paired with the unpopular former agent on a task force investigating the killing of Supreme Court Justice Henry Venter. Reeder - nicknamed "Peep" for his unparalleled skills at reading body language - makes a startling discovery while reviewing a security tape: the shooting was premeditated, not a botched robbery. Even more chilling, the controversial Venter may not be the only justice targeted for death.

When you decide on a political theme, there is an excellent chance you will offend at least 50% of your listeners, especially if you present as proven fact what 50% of your listeners might dispute. Perhaps presenting both sides as valid might work better.

Are You Looking for a Spiritual Challenge?
Reviewed: 01-02-22
I just finished Year 1 of the Bible in a year podcast, available on iTunes and just about any smartphone. I started Year 1 in March, and I caught up in the summer.
When you “subscribe,” the next podcast automatically shows up on the podcast app on your phone. Catching up and subscribing means you don’t have to spend time scrolling and selecting each day. So catching up (or starting at the beginning of a year) is a way of simplifying, which makes the likelihood of creating a habit about 100% higher.
I always look for the easiest way to create a new habit, so I made this podcast the first thing I listened to on my morning walk with Max. Because the podcast are God-focused and inspirational as well as laced with humor and good intentions, I found it to be a terrific way to start my day. I believe it is a “multiplier” habit, one which multiplied my efforts in all areas of my life – spiritual, physical, mental and emotional.
This year, I’m taking a different approach. For year two, I’m going for an immersive experience – sight, hearing, and touch. I haven’t figured out how to add smell and taste (but it does go well with coffee and water):
1. I listen to the podcast (1.5 speed – adjust to your preference
2. I follow the reading in my Great Adventure Bible (Revised Standard Version – Second Catholic Edition)
3. I make notes in my Bible in a Year Notebook
Try it for 21 days. Make it a habit.
