Story
In High Earth, digital entertainment is everything. Shows. Virtual worlds. Simulations - there’s something for everybody in a city where working for a living has been rendered obsolete by technological advancements. Even a short walk outside to visit with others is no longer necessary. Just load into the network and you can be with anyone, anywhere. For Asher Reinhart, nothing compares to Ignis; a live reality show that pushes human beings to their very extremes.

Not the best not the worst. Story was good enough but took a long time to develop for a just ok ending. Narrator seemed to get voices mixed up and also seemed to miss punctuation throughout.

Story
Once Homo sapiens reigned supreme, spreading from star system to star system in an empire that encountered no alien life and thus knew no enemy.... save itself. As had happened many times before, the most primal human instincts rose up, only this time armed with the advanced scientific knowledge to create a genetically engineered smart virus that quickly wiped out humanity to the last man. That man is Ruslan, the sole known surviving human being in the universe.

This is the second book I have tried of this author and I have to say I am very disappointed. This was such a good idea for a story and it was ruined by tangents and way to much detail in unimportant areas.
I kept waiting for some big payoff but after 30+ hours the book just ends with no resolution at all. This book is in desperate need of an honest and skilled editor.

Story
Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey are unquestionably two of the greatest epic masterpieces in Western literature. Though more than 2,700 years old, their stories of brave heroics, capricious gods, and towering human emotions are vividly timeless. The Iliad can justly be called the world’s greatest war epic. The terrible and long-drawn-out siege of Troy remains one of the classic campaigns. The Odyssey chronicles the many trials and adventures Odysseus must pass through on his long journey home from the Trojan wars to his beloved wife.

This was a wonderful reading of these books. I enjoyed the Odyssey more than the Iliad. It is hard to believe that a story this old could be so engaging and exciting. I had been putting off reading for a long while and am so glad I finally took the plunge.

I could not get through the whole book
Reviewed: 02-23-22
I really tried to like this book. The premise is interesting but the story itself was filled with unneeded details and literal bureaucracy. There is actually a point at which the title of the exchange is longer than the actual exchange of dialogue. This happens ad nauseam. As far as I can tell the actual story itself is just a description of the tedium of government bureaucracy.
I gave up about halfway through because it just kept getting away from the actual story and more and more into email and text exchanges about interoffice dynamic that I can only guess was the authors attempt at humor.

Based on an Audible recommendation to me I decided to try this book. I am so happy I did. What a gripping story and such a unique presentation. I loved the dual perspectives, it kept me hanging on every word. There is a lot of “ruff” language so be prepared but I think it is used properly and helps to give the characters much more depth especially the dog.
