The plot and character development was great. The pace of the book was perfect occasionally I wanted it to move on so I could find out what was going to happen, but most of the time I did not want to get to the end. The author did a remarkable job of incorporating references to faith into the plot without becoming preachy. Intrigue and complex characters without explicit language plus great narration made this a great read/listen.

Waiting for her at one of the red gingham-topped tables is Albie Young, a charming man with a twinkle in his eye and an impressive collection of tweed flat caps. Every week, the pair share a slice of marble cake and a pot of tea. Except one week, Albie doesn’t turn up.

But I liked the premise of the book. The details in the descriptions are superficial, but long. The narrator and voices sometimes sounded childish. The quality picks up or I got used to it by the end.

Story
In one of his most enlightening works, C. S. Lewis shares his ruminations on both the form and the meaning of selected psalms. In the introduction he explains, "I write for the unlearned about things in which I am unlearned myself." Consequently, he takes on a tone of thoughtful collegiality as he writes on one of the Bible's most elusive books.
