Story
At the end of the last century, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was a booming coal-and-steel town filled with hardworking families striving for a piece of the nation's burgeoning industrial prosperity. In the mountains above Johnstown, an old earth dam had been hastily rebuilt to create a lake for an exclusive summer resort patronized by the tycoons of that same industrial prosperity, among them Andrew Carnegie, Henry Clay Frick, and Andrew Mellon.

Fascinating Story

A fascinating and sad piece of American history very well told by Edward Herrman. the author certainly did their research, and it was by no means dry storytelling.

Story
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the kingdom of Phthia to be raised in the shadow of King Peleus and his golden son, Achilles. “The best of all the Greeks”—strong, beautiful, and the child of a goddess—Achilles is everything the shamed Patroclus is not. Yet despite their differences, the boys become steadfast companions. Their bond deepens as they grow into young men and become skilled in the arts of war and medicine—much to the displeasure and the fury of Achilles’ mother, Thetis, a cruel sea goddess with a hatred of mortals.

Story
In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child—not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power—the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves.

Magnificent storytelling

I cannot recommend this more strongly. It was beautifully written, and poignant in it's subject matter. The story alone is gripping in both it's familiarity, and it's fresh feel.
this audio work is perhaps the most beautiful.marriage of voice talent and prose I have ever heard.

Story
This is a spellbinding tale woven of equal parts epic and myth - with a liberal dash of hard science fiction. When a one-way time tunnel to Earth’s distant past, specifically six million B.C., was discovered by folks on the Galactic Milieu, every misfit for light-years around hurried to pass through it. Each sought his own brand of happiness. But none could have guessed what awaited them. Not even in a million years....

A beautifully written story on the scale of Lord of the Rings. the characters, the landscapes, the interplay and underlying philosophies are all rich and complex, thrilling and very, very memorable.

Now I Know Just How Brilliant John Waters Is
Reviewed: 05-31-19
This was an excellent book! I laughed out loud many times. Twice uncontrollably! I always knew that John Waters had a very unique viewpoint on the world, but now I can understand it. He will make you see the brilliance of the strange, the art of the odd, and the value in battling conformity.
