Story
I killed a girl last night. I did it with my bare hands and an old piece of pipe I found lying next to the dumpster. But that's not the part that got me. The part that scared me, the part I can't seem to wrap my head around and still has me reeling, was that when she charged me, her body shifted; and then she was a wolf - all snapping teeth and extended claws. But by the time I stood over her lifeless body, she was a girl again. That's about the time I went into shock. And that was the moment he showed up.

What did you love best about Dirty Blood?
I loved this story, it started slowly and I thought I was not going to like it. Then as it progressed it got more and more exciting and I sort of fell into it and got really engrossed. So much so I forgot everything else except listening to the narrative. During some points it was so exciting I was practically hyperventilating lol.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Tara, she was so brave and strong yet at the same time she is a typical teenager with the normal anxieties that go with being that age. Boys and girlfriends and wanting to pull away from parental authority. She is thrown into situations not meant for a young girl to have to face. I think she is a lovely girl with a beautiful character and I can't wait to see how she develops in future books.
Have you listened to any of Kelly Pruner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first time I have heard Kelly Pruner read so I have no comparison to go by.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I think this is a very emotional story and there is not a lot to laugh about in it. Tara and Wes are very much in love and young love is always very heavy going. They are being kept apart and even a day can seem like a lifetime at their age. Then the whole story about trying to make peace between the hunters and the werewolves is violent and sad because of the loss of lives. So yes, I did have an extreme feeling of empathy forTara and everyone fighting with her for peace.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I wanted to listen to this book in one sitting. I had already read the first book in the series.and enjoyed it. This one was a joy to listen to. I found it very amusing how two people can so misunderstand each other and get into such a muddle and a mess on the way to true love. It is a story that is well written and beautifully read and I can highly recommend it.
