Story
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Long but couldn’t stop listening

Longest story I’ve listened to yet, but like a dumpster fire you can’t stop looking at! Loved the characters and wanted good things to happen to set them right, but like life, there are rarely knitted up clean happily ever after endings.

Story
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend this book to a friend if they were looking for a listen that would keep them riveted but not so much they can't drive thru traffic and not miss something.
Would you be willing to try another book from William Kent Krueger? Why or why not?
I am currently listening to book 3..so yes.
Which scene was your favorite?
I was pretty impressed with the woodland scenes..the suspense while in deep woods was pretty authentic.
