Story
Amanda and Clay head out to a remote corner of Long Island expecting a vacation: a quiet reprieve from life in New York City, quality time with their teenage son and daughter, and a taste of the good life in the luxurious home they’ve rented for the week. But a late-night knock on the door breaks the spell. Ruth and G. H. are an older couple—it’s their house, and they’ve arrived in a panic. They bring the news that a sudden blackout has swept the city. But in this rural area—with the TV and internet now down, and no cell phone service—it’s hard to know what to believe.

the story and its concept is ruling nicely done. the annoying characters and the character development from the author leaves very much desired. the ending was a very poor it felt like the author just got tired of own story. the narrator did a fantastic job with changing to all the characters oh, that was the highlight of the book - The narrator.

Great Story

Really good story. The authors' use of mycelium mixed with Mexican lore and just a dash of History is a great combination for the story, but the terror of the book Falls a little flat for someone that was expecting a little bit more.

Story
Hundreds of years ago, the Selkies made a deal with the sea witch: they would have the sea for as long as she allowed it, and when the time came, she would call in all their debts at once. When the Luidaeg - October "Toby" Daye's oldest and most dangerous ally - tells her the time has come for the Selkies to fulfill their side of the bargain, and that Toby must be a part of the process, Toby can't refuse. Literally. The Selkies aren't the only ones in debt to the Luidaeg, and Toby has to pay what she owes like anyone else.

Slow but Steady
Reviewed: 09-05-19
This story is great, it's just slower and almost as if the story felt forced. Meaning that it's flow felt like the reader just didn't have the same "charisma" as the first time reading the first book. It's not necessarily a bad thing, it is just there. At least for me.
