Story
Ignition! is the story of the search for a rocket propellant which could be trusted to take man into space. This search was a hazardous enterprise carried out by rival labs who worked against the known laws of nature, with no guarantee of success or safety. John Drury Clark writes with irreverent and eyewitness immediacy about the development of the explosive fuels strong enough to negate the relentless restraints of gravity. The resulting volume is as much a memoir as a work of history, sharing a behind-the-scenes view of an enterprise that eventually took men to the moon.

If you like space, you should listen to this book. Period.
Front to back intriguing, even for someone with little to no chemical knowledge and highly informative. The author is very good at adding his own touch of personality and humor to almost every story and explaination and I found myself gasping and laughing quite often.
Audio production was spot on and well done. Can't recommend it enough!

Story
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

This was my first time reading the book and I cannot express enough how greatly I enjoyed it. A remarkably well written classic that everyone should listen to. The narration as well was very well done and tasteful, though I must say Mrs. Bennett's voice was..... appropriately painful. Overall, excellent.

Absolutely phenomenal all around. Serkis did an amazing job voicing all of the characters and delivering every line with true care and devotion to the story and emotion of the books. Even if you have read the books before or seen the movies, I cannot recommend this full series enough as it brings the story to life in a new and beautiful way. 10/10.

Story
While many of us struggle to understand it, the Trinity is one of the most important teachings of the Christian faith. It defines God's very essence and describes how he relates to us. And while it can be a difficult concept to get our heads around, it is crucial for believers to understand how God explains his triune nature in his word. In this book, James R. White offers a concise, understandable explanation of what the Trinity is and why it matters.

Dr. White does an absolutely amazing job unpacking the oft misrepresented and misunderstood doctrine that Christians have and should hold so dear. The book is immensely approachable and very well written so as to hold attention and point the reader toward the one, true, triune God.
Narration was also excellently done and personal.

Story
The church reached a turning point in the 16th century. Worship had become a spectacle, the gospel was distorted, the sacraments were replaced by superstition, and ministers lived in immorality. To restore the church to the teachings of Christ, the Reformers cried out for a return to God’s authoritative word. In this classic treatise, John Calvin presents four areas of the church’s life and doctrine that must be carefully guarded and guided by scripture. This timeless call for biblical faithfulness beckons us today. How will we respond?

Surprisingly approachable, and a great way to become more informed on the issues surrounding the reformation. The foreword by Godfrey is also an excellent application of the overarching principles to today's church. Well worth the listen!

NASA's history is a familiar story, culminating with the agency successfully landing men on the moon in 1969. But NASA's prehistory is a rarely told tale, one that is largely absent from the popular space-age literature but that gives the context behind the incredible lunar program. America's space agency wasn't created in a vacuum; it was assembled from preexisting parts, drawing together some of the best minds the non-Soviet world had to offer.

Reporter Sam Kean reveals the periodic table as it’s never been seen before. Not only is it one of man's crowning scientific achievements, it's also a treasure trove of stories of passion, adventure, betrayal, and obsession. The infectious tales and astounding details in The Disappearing Spoon follow carbon, neon, silicon, and gold as they play out their parts in human history, finance, mythology, war, the arts, poison, and the lives of the (frequently) mad scientists who discovered them.

Excellent Narrative, if a Bit Preachy

I really did enjoy the book overall, I just wish there were more to it. The author does not cover every element (nor could he feasibly and with as much story behind each I don't think) but I do wish for a bit more coverage than what was given. The author also chose to delve into philosophy on multiple occasions and, unfortunately, struck on multiple points that I feel were neither warranted nor well supported.
Overall, I would recommend this book as there are many great stories and interesting facts, just be ready for some amatuer philosophy and waxing poetically.

Here for the first time, in rich human, political, and scientific detail, is the complete story of how the bomb was developed, from the turn-of-the-century discovery of the vast energy locked inside the atom to the dropping of the first bombs on Japan. Few great discoveries have evolved so swiftly - or have been so misunderstood. From the theoretical discussions of nuclear energy to the bright glare of Trinity, there was a span of hardly more than 25 years.

The story of the bomb is one that is both incredibly fascinating and horrifying. This book goes all the way back to the discovery of the atom and does an amazing job following the scientific discoveries (and the stories behind the amazing men and women that made them) that led to the realization that atomic energy could be unleashed. Through the journey, the author weaves the stories together remarkably well and includes discussion of the political, economical, and ethical reasoning behind nearly every step of development. An incredible story, about incredible people, that created an incredible, and terrible, means to an end.
Great story, and the narration is very well done. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Story
In the early hours of February 25, 1968, a Russian submarine armed with three nuclear ballistic missiles set sail from its base in Siberia on a routine combat patrol to Hawaii. Then it vanished. As the Soviet navy searched in vain for the lost vessel, a small, highly classified American operation using sophisticated deep-sea spy equipment found it - wrecked on the sea floor at a depth of 16,800 feet, far beyond the capabilities of any salvage that existed.
