The Wallflower’s Dance by Jen Geigle Johnson
A cute story about Lottie, wallflower that comes into some money when she inherits a dowry. Readers will easily connect with this introvert and love the story as Lottie is suddenly inundated with dance partners and suitors and has to weave her way through and determine which one is really a true friend. This is a short story readers will adore.

Letters to a Wallflower by Heather B. Moore
A funny story about Ellen who accepts a dare from her cousin to stand as a wallflower at a dance. But then is sought after by Lord Ravenshire who is doing his best to dance with every wallflower at the dance that night. A beautiful friendship and love story that readers will thoroughly enjoy.


To Marry a Wallflower by Anneka R. Walker
A charming story about a young woman, Charlotte, who pretends to be an imaginary cousin in order to better get to know a man, Lord Templeton who will supposedly become her betrothed and salvage her reputation. Readers will adore this heart-warming story as they get to know the characters and their stories and why they behave as they do.

The Collection as a Whole and the Narrator
Readers will adore the stories in this delightful collection with all stories relating to a wallflower. Each author has a unique voice and beautiful storytelling that helps bring their tales to life. Sweet and clean romance that readers will not want to miss out on. And the narrator Shane East is so much fun to listen to, weaving the stories to life right off the pages.

The Diamond of Bristol by Arlem Hawkes

Such a charming story about a wager meant for one night, but ends up leading to a reluctant friendship and romance. A second chance love story that readers will thoroughly enjoy.

Women of Certain Age by Josi S. Kilpack

A sweet story about an “old maid” and how she doesn’t want to be part of the society’s norms and stay an old maid. She still wants to find true love and sets out to do so. Such a cute matchmaking romance!

A Most Unsuitable Suitor by Sarah M. Eden

Such a sweet story about an unexpected wager about a young man who will get paid a large sum if he ensures that a young lady does not marry by her 21st birthday. It’s about an unexpected friendship and love story amidst mysteries and chaos. Readers will adore this short story.

The Collection as a Whole & the Narrator

The collection as a whole is so much fun. Each story relates to the title, which is A Lady’s Wager, in that each story includes a wager that is placed for one reason or another. Each author has a unique voice and engaging storytelling skills. And the narrator, Kim Bretton, does an excellent job with the voices of the characters and bringing these sweet Georgian romance stories to life. A fantastic collection that readers will adore.

Author Sally Britton has written a sweet and engaging Regency love story in her novel A Companion for the Count. This is a fantastic friends to lovers romance. Readers will immediately fall in love with Emma Arlen, her kindness and humor are a delight. And Count di Atella, better known as Luca and his Italian heritage are charming and fun to learn about. Readers will be enthralled as the friendship and love blossom between Emma and Luca. This heart-warming sweet romance is one that readers will be drawn to.

A wonderful adventure story!

Frank L. Cole has written a wonderful adventure story that kids will have a delightful time reading. The story is about a group of kids that become friends and their adventures. This story is humorous, filled with friendship and lots of fun. There are several main characters of the story and it’s great to see the perspective of each. This story has a bit of a feel similar to that of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as well as at the end leaves readers with several unanswered questions. Overall this is a fun and delightful story that young readers are sure to enjoy.

The audible narrator, Mike Golczynski, was fun and entertaining reader. He really brings Cole’s story to life by using different voices for the various characters throughout the story. His voice is likeable and keeps listeners enthralled throughout the entirety of the story.

An intriguing story and an astounding recording!

Author Jocelyn Green has written an intriguing story about a young women that has lived a life of privilege, but decides she wants more out of life and becomes a nurse for the army. This story follows her as she helps in the army hospitals and comes to know and help those less fortunate than herself. This story is full of wonderful historical details that readers of historical fiction will enjoy. Plus there is just a little bit of romance too.

The audible recording was outstanding and well put together. The narrator, Laura Richcreek, has a clear voice and reads with emotion, as well as doing all the unique accents of people from different backgrounds and life situations. All of this enhances the fascinating story that Green has written.

Book one in the Seven Brides of South Dakota Series, Dreams in Deadwood, by Kari Trumbo, is an excellent sweet inspirational western romance that readers will absolutely fall in love with. From the very beginning of the novel, the characters come to life off the pages and readers will come to know and love them. Trumbo’s excellent storytelling and rich western theme will keep the attention of readers from the first page all the way to the very end of the story. Through overcoming the struggles of living in the west, as well as battles of the heart, Trumbo touches the hearts of and inspires her readers. Although some of the dialogue in the story is a little flat, the story, hero, heroin, and sweet romance will keep readers engaged. This is a story that readers of sweet western romance will definitely enjoy.

In the Audible audio version of the Dreams in Deadwood, the narrator does an excellent job of bringing to the life the story and the voices of the different characters, making this already fun and enjoyable story a pleasant listen.
