Great first book from an excellent author!!

Full disclosure I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review. Overall I thought that this was a very good first book by a new author. The main character was well thought out, easy to relate to, and the reader was able to understand the characters driving force that made him who he is. The plot was good and the author was able to naturally world build as the characters interacted in a way that did not feel forced. The “gifts” were pretty typical with a few surprise here and there.
The main reason why I’m only giving it four stars is I desperately wanted more! I can’t help but to compare this book to Superpowereds. As it follows a similar tract of gifted kids in college. I wanted more interactions of the characters in their day to day lives. I felt that the story had so much more room to expand upon but instead fast tracked to the exciting conclusion. I felt that the story could have been double the length and I would have been eating up every moment of it! This being said the overall story was a solid first good book and if I had the ability to give 4.5 stars I totally would! I’m looking forward to listening to the next book and seeing the story expands and grows!!
