Story
Newly installed at All Souls Lutheran, Mallory “Pastor Pete” Peterson soon realizes that her church isn’t merely going through turbulent waters, but is a sinking ship. With the help of five loyal members of the Naomi Circle, the young, bold minister brainstorms fundraising ideas. They all agree that the usual recipe book won’t add much to the parish coffers, but maybe one with all the ingredients on how to heat up relationships rather than casseroles will…

A book about something said so casually and turns it into the extraordinary. Makes one look at the alphabet and life in a new way. LOVED IT!!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I have listened to numerous books by Sandra Brown and have always found them enjoyable. However, this time I find myself distracted by the narration. Stephen Lang comes across as monotone, the splicing of the audio fluctuates in volume and there is very little distinction between characters themselves and between characters and narrators part. I might just have to enjoy this book the old fashion way and actually read it.
