The best part about this book was the love making scenes. 4 stars for that part. With the exception of a couple of chapters, the overall sorry didn't captivate me enough.

I absolutely loved Amisha, the heroine of the story.
Her story gave me the courage to continue sharing mine.
I could relate to her love for writing stories, dreaming through them and giving others hope as she shared them.
She was brave in a time that didn't allow her voice to be heard but didn't allow that to stop her. Her acts of courage changed lives and that's all that mattered to her.

Absolutely adorable!
Loving, sensual, and sexually provoking - a brilliant balance. Reminded me of a love shared between two people in a movie I recently saw.

I absolutely loved this book for its vibrant visuals, inside perspectives, and candid openness into the lives of America's First Black Family.

I'm so proud!

Michelle has done a fabulous job taking us from her humble, loving, strong family home and what having a great education meant to them, to how she met Barack, and how on the first introduction with him wasn't impressed. Her humor is one that I've come to appreciate which I hadn't at first, thanks to the perception the media portrayed of her.

I now, with much appreciation, understand the sacrifices she made in order to give Barack space to be and do the work he was passionate about. Which on many occasions, put the community before their marriage. Through it all, they still remained close, never forgetting what was most important to them, family.

Gabrielle is funny and brutally honest, I truly wasn't expecting to love this book as much as I did! It all makes sense, her characters on t.v. are so much like who she is in real life that I was pleasantly surprised I enjoyed it so much.

This book gave me a new appreciation for Gabrielle, one that I'm grateful for because before reading this I wasn't a fan. I mean, I enjoy some of her movies, and guest appearances, but disliked her very popular t.v. show, Being Mary Jane.

I think she's brave and I admire that about her. I think she's HILARIOUS, I couldn't stop laughing. But when I did, I listened, I really listened to her heart, and how she described some of the most painful moments of her childhood and her unquestionable love for the people who meant the world to her.

I'm grateful to Gabrielle for sharing her story, it's necessary for all men and women to read to gain an insight into the life of another human being who's perspective on our world matters. If anything, I believe it will influence how we treat people who are different from us and see that we all can relate to each other in some way.
After reading this, I truly do need some more wine.

Over the years I've really come to appreciate Trevor Noah and after reading this book I appreciate the man and his life even more.

His story is compelling, one that draws you in chapter after chapter. I learned so much about growing up in South Africa as a young child experiencing racial discrimination due to the hands of aparthied. And inspite of that, how he learned to overcome a life filled with poverty yet rich with love and a willingness to survive.

His mother, a beautiful, strong, determined woman, never allowed her circumstances to dictate her view on life, and the life she wanted to provide for Trevor and his younger brothers. Her belief that she could teach Trevor that his circumstances don't have to define who is and will be was unquestionable.
His sense of humor will have you laughing even during some terrifying moments in his life.
An enjoyable read, one you'll remember for some time to come.

I love how Jen offers practical advice and methods to apply in order to change the mind about money. I've incorporated a few in our homeschool lessons.

She's funny and straight forward, with an almost demanding tone in her delivery. It feels as if this is a matter of life and death urgency.

Her passion for where she's been and how far she's come with her relationship with money rings loud and clear. It is inspiring.
