A fun-loving story with lots of characters!
Reviewed: 01-19-20
The story draws you in, and keeps you wondering how it will end. Lots of funny things in it, and it also includes romance. Narration is well done, also. I would recommend it!

Story
He fought for her heart, but he’s been keeping a secret - one that could ruin everything. Kelsey assumed Mitch was an average guy - an amazing, average guy - when he came to her rescue after one of his prize fights, but she couldn’t have been more wrong. Mitch never meant to keep his true identity a secret forever - just long enough to convince her that he wasn’t like the other rich guy she’d been burned by.

A beautiful story to listen to!
Reviewed: 01-19-20
The author provides a story that is easy to get involved in, and has a way to keep you listening. There are ups and downs, as in any well-written story, that make it interesting and draw you in. The narration is well done, too! I enjoyed all of the book, and am confident anyone who enjoys this genre will, also. I highly recommend it.

Story
When Ivy Wolfe ran away to Alabama to nurse a broken heart, the last thing she expected was to fall in love again. She needed a job to support her college expenses, and even though the salary for an assistant position in the home of a billionaire appeared too good to be true, she ignored the red flags and charged ahead. With insecurities of her own to overcome, she found working for a self-absorbed recluse much harder than she anticipated. Determined to get through to Sawyer, Ivy wrote a letter that would change the course of their relationship.

A great book to listen to!
Reviewed: 03-05-19
The narration, by Em Eldridge and Cody Roberts, was unique to other books I’ve listened to. It made the characters come alive, as they read it! Though said to be a modern re-telling of Beauty & the Beast, I think it is even better than the fairy tale! Two people, both with their own insecurities and built-up emotional walls for self-preservation; but so in need of someone to truly love them. Follow their struggles, as they both grow into what God has for them. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would give it 10+!

Listening actually enhanced the story for me!
Reviewed: 12-19-17
I had purchased the book set, early this year, and had read all the stories, including A Christmas Surprise. But, listening to it made it come even more alive, and I caught things in the story I’d either missed, or didn’t remember. I think Virginia does a great job of defining the different voices, helping separate the characters. It is a fun book to read and to listen to!

Kingdoms Overrule Hearts
Reviewed: 09-18-17
The story begins with Lady Catherine held captive onboard ship to Normandy. Mistreated, yet feared because of her status, her captors do little to care for her. She wants to know what happened to her daughter. No one knows. Though somewhat emotionally hard to learn what she goes through, it is well worth reading to the end! I highly recommend this book!
Disclaimer: I received the audible version from the author, in exchange for my honest review. However, I also purchased the book, and am glad I have both!

A delightful story!
Reviewed: 08-25-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this audiobook, as a sweet romance story, set in the Medieval time period, in Anglo-Saxon England. The author uses her knowledge of the time periods, and weaves it into the story, making the story more meaningful and understanding, as a result.
What about Katie Bunn’s performance did you like?
Katie does a good job changes voices for the main characters, which makes it easy to follow.
Any additional comments?
It gives an insight into how things were, during this period of history. The differences in status based on either birth or land ownership, and how they become part of the nobility, was interesting. It is a sweet romance, woven within the time period, and makes it delightful to listen to.

A Fantastic Historical Novel!
Reviewed: 08-17-17
If you could sum up Conquests in three words, what would they be?
Historically accurate, believable
What did you like best about this story?
The story is believable, and portrays a couple from both sides of the Conquest. She is an Anglo Saxon, he is one of the Normans who invaded the land. So when the new King William demands they marry, they bring hard feelings and attitudes that are difficult to overcome.
Which scene was your favorite?
The last chapter's scene was my favorite, after all the misunderstandings and misconceptions they each had, they finally are understanding each other better. It made it worth the wait!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I wanted to listen to it in one sitting; but I wasn't able to. I finished it in two days.
Any additional comments?
I like reading Emily Murdoch's writings, and was excited to listen to it! It brings it alive, and more personal. Katie Bunn does a wonderful job of narrating!
