Review of Overcoming imposter syndrome
I will give this audio book a 4 out of 5 stars.
The information is solid through chapter 4. She even mentions ‘core beliefs’, emotions that provide feelings in our body, rough childhoods, and even substance abuse to cover the emotions caused by the shame. But in true cognitive behavioral theory falls back into cognitive practices to try and overcome the syndrome. The gold standard of CBT is at best moderately helpful to 50% of the population.
Like CBT she never gets to the root cause of the problem. The root cause is subconscious trauma rooted in toxic shame. THAT is your core beliefs. A core belief is a belief or narrative about an event tied to a negative emotion. Over time those are implanted in our subconscious and run the rest of our lives…causing imposter syndrome et. al.
I’ll be doing a review of this book on my YT channel.
Get this book. Read this book. The CBT is good once the maladaptive programs are cleared.

The new question: Ten years after the worldwide bestseller Good to Great, Jim Collins returns to ask: Why do some companies thrive in uncertainty, even chaos, and others do not? In Great by Choice, Collins and his colleague, Morten T. Hansen, enumerate the principles for building a truly great enterprise in unpredictable, tumultuous, and fast-moving times. The new study: Great by Choice distinguishes itself from Collins’s prior work by its focus on the type of unstable environments faced by leaders today.

Simply great data.
Any additional comments?
Play this at 1.25 speed. Way too slow of a read for anything less.

Story
Samantha Owens applied for the vacant position offered by the State of Texas prison officials for a Registered Nurse with obstetrical experience to work in their OB clinic. After her somewhat frightening orientation what she actually ended up working was the night shift position making her responsible for over 900 inmates in the women's correctional facility.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is an easy listen. Starts gently by building a skeleton and then Sandra begins to flesh out the story. Good twists at just the right time. Simply a good story.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked that this could actually happen (and probably does) in the world today. I am a fan of old time radio shows (I love good story telling). This fits in well with what I like to listen to...just a good story.
Have you listened to any of Ayelet Sror’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I had not listened to Ayelet yet. This is my first. Good pace, nice smooth voice. Her character voices are nice. Helps to follow the story and figure out what character is speaking. I look forward to more of her narration.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Be careful of minor surgeries.
