Imani Perry tells her story in the way that only one who has gone deeply into the journey of chronic illness and has become accepting of the journey. She speaks a language that those of us with chronic illness understand and can relate to intimately. She has given voice to the challenge of having physicians who either do not believe in your pain, don’t believe in or see you as a person (being a woman of color),or who somehow feel it’s our birthright as women of color to be in pain. She was transparent about the unfortunate pride of “having a high pain tolerance” and “not wanting to be a bother.” Upon hearing this I realized that I share the same malady and no longer want this. Her criteria for friends was spot on and I should

Stacy Abrams is a woman of many gift and talents and I am happy she is using them. This book was suspenseful and complex. The knowledge of cyber security was so in depth I wondered if she did this work before. The way she managed multiple character story lines was masterful. Great book!

This book started slowly because there are details that are pertinent to the rest of the book that must be shared. It was poignant and so real. Highly recommend this book

The best way to share our faith is with simplicity and passion. This book does just that. Pastor Lentz was very effective at sharing his faith in a no nonsense way that is relatable to by all kinds of people. I highly recommend it. Great read (or listen).

This book is for anyone make or female who enjoys watching the journey of another in their quest for change. It's for those who are open to the idea of "better" and who are willing to say "yes" right along with Shonda. Yes, I now call her by her first name since she said we were friends while reading her book. Motivating. Inspiring. Challenging.
