Story
In Our Endangered Values, Carter offers a personal consideration of "moral values" as they relate to the important issues of the day. He puts forward a passionate defense of separation of church and state, and a strong warning of where the country is heading as the lines between politics and rigid religious fundamentalism are blurred.

A thoughtful and insightful work

President Carter does a wonderful job of putting into words many of the thoughts and feelings shared by those of us concerned about the direction this country is taking. Other reviewers here have called President Carter's views those of an "extreme Liberal agenda." As President Carter shows, his views are actually the traditional values upon which this country was founded. It is the current climate of intolerance, political repression and blurring of the distinction between church and state that are contrary to the princples upon which our nation was founded.

This is one of the best audiobooks I've downloaded. Prof. Lakoff does a terrific job of explaining how the Republicans use (abuse?) the language. Truly a wake up call for Democrats.

For several years, "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" has been on my "To Read" list. I am so pleased that I finally 'read' the book by downloading this audiobook. The imagry of Douglas Adam's prose is magnified by the author's wonderful reading of the story. I highly recommend this book, and I intend to download the rest of the "trilogy."

Story
The real war on terror has happened largely behind closed doors, run by the White House, drawing on secret intelligence and operations around the world. There is no man who knows more about it than Richard Clarke, the former Counterterrorism Czar for both George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, the man who has led our efforts against al Qaeda and all other terrorist enemies for years.

An Eye-Opening Book

After listening to this audiobook, I am more convinced that the the war with Iraq is both foolish and tragic for the future of America. Richard Clark makes the point quite clearly that by entering into an invasion of Iraq, we have made ourselves much more vulnerable to future attacks by Al-Qaeda. His description of the Bush administration's obsession with Saddam Hussein and their lack of interest in bin Laden is sobering. It is hard to listen to this audiobook and not be concerned that we are failing in the war against terror. We need more people like Richard Clark in government service.
