Story
Lewis Carroll's classic tale of nonsense and imagination, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was an immediate sensation upon its publication in 1865. It tells the tale of Alice, a young girl who tumbles down a rabbit hole into a world filled with talking rabbits, grinning cats, mad hatters and vengeful queens. The subject of dozens of adaptations, retellings, films and stage productions, Alice and the sequel Carroll penned soon thereafter - Through the Looking Glass - are two of the most treasured works of fiction in the English language.

Ridiculously Fabulous

Simply the most fun I've had listening to a classic tale. The performances are so spot on I could easily envision the mock turtle singing his song and the Queen threatening to behead everyone. Seriously made a dreadful car ride the most fun. I've had during the pandemic. You won't regret this purchase.

Story
Beowulf, a sprawling, fantastical tale of bravery, heroism, and Anglo-Saxon heraldry, is the most celebrated epic poem in the English language. The story of the great Geatish fighter Beowulf, who comes to the aid of the beleagued Hrothgar and his men, relates three epic battles: Beowulf's fight with the monster Grendel, his face-off with Grendel's vengeful mother and, after serving as King for 50 years, Beowulf's fateful clash with a fire-breathing dragon.

Ok. So I was an English major and had to read this. I got the story and appreciated it, but I hated slogging through it and just didn't get how it was so pivotal. I'm so glad I took the time to listen to Mr. Theis' narration. He made it sing for me. I get it now! Thank you!!!

Story
Confessions of a Transylvanian is a one-of-a-kind, backstage look at the greatest cult movie phenomenon of all time - the live Rocky Horror Picture Show - told by those who lived it. The highest-rated Rocky Horror book on the market, Confessions is a moving snapshot of life in a Rocky Horror cast that captures the grit, language and teenage angst of a group of fishnet-clad performers as they explore a world where the only rule was: Don't dream it. Be it.

Classic coming of age tale set within RHPS
Reviewed: 08-09-17
Would you consider the audio edition of Confessions of a Transylvanian to be better than the print version?
Yes, but only because the narrator is not only the author but an actor. These are his stories, who better to tell it?
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the stories of friendship and family that developed in this rather odd assortment of characters. This is a classic coming of age tale, only this one is set among fishnets and drag makeup.
I found myself laughing out loud and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Have you listened to any of Kevin Theis’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have. They are all wonderful but this has a special edge since it's his story.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The title says it all.
Any additional comments?
Anyone who every went to a midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, anyone who grew up in South Florida in the early 80's and any open minded theater junkie should read this. I loved it.
