Story
Over the last two decades, there has been an inescapable rise of anger and aggression across our planet. Hate speech has become increasingly prevalent online, Western governments are turning towards authoritarianism and populism, and extremist groups are rising across both the left and the right ends of the political spectrum. Every day, it seems, we're hearing more angry voices and fearful opinions, we're seeing more threats and frightening news, and we're reacting faster and less rationally.

WOW. An absolute must and incredibly timely

This book is a powerful, absolute must-read for anyone living in the era of social media and the attention economy. It’s both fascinating, deeply important, entertaining and a fun read! Sent it to my mom and friends, everyone needs to be aware of how our attention is monetized and controlled in ways detrimental for our general well-being and society overall.

Story
Violeta comes into the world on a stormy day in 1920, the first girl in a family with five boisterous sons. From the start, her life is marked by extraordinary events, for the ripples of the Great War are still being felt, even as the Spanish flu arrives on the shores of her South American homeland almost at the moment of her birth.

Loved the first 2/3rds then it became boring, repetitive and self involved. Her other books were better
