Leighton and Tom are opposites in every sense of the word. She’s privileged, and a little (actually very) stuck up. He’s kind, patient, and…charming.

Tom truly was charming. He was so, so patient with Leighton. And he was able to get her to open up by just being himself; he never pushed her to share anything she wasn’t comfortable sharing. And it was because of him that she was able to stand up for herself and let her parents, especially her dad, know when enough was enough. I was so happy when she finally got to do what she wanted to do, what made her happy.

Narration style: Dual

Both are new-to-me-narrators, but these two did a great job on their respective character’s voice. I wasn’t a big fan of Alex Kydd’s “female” voice, but it did sound similar to how I’d imagine someone like Leighton would sound. Devra Woodward was great for Leighton and managed to capture all of her conflicting emotions – from her haughtiness to her vulnerable side.

My Silver Lining is the second book in the Rosewood River series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Rafe and Lulu’s meet cute was hilarious, and their multiple run-ins were also funny.

They didn’t exactly like each other, but they agreed to fake date. And fake dating between enemies is one of my favorite trope combinations, so I was excited to see where their story went.

The banter between them was great. And I loved how Rafe’s family was so welcoming to Lulu.

But Rafe! The way he fell so hard and wanted whatever Lulu wanted? And his “if he wanted to, he would” moment? Ahh, I was swooning.

I loved this story and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Narration Style: Duet

The narrators did an amazing job bringing the story and characters to life. They brought out all of the emotions and they definitely made some moments (the meet-cute) even funnier.

This was so emotional and heartbreaking, especially hearing everything Liana went through was. She was so strong and resilient.

Giovanni “Gio” was obsessed with Liana. And sure he kidnapped her. But the way he cared for her and was so in love? And he was patient and protective? I loved him.

I enjoyed this and can’t wait for the next book.

Alex Volkov is cunning, intelligent, morally grey, and a complete alphah0le. And Jules was his opposite, always happy and wanting others to be happy. Ugh, it was so cute seeing her slowly break through his defenses. But his protectiveness? His groveling? Perfection.

I understand the hype now.

Scoring Sutton is the third book in the Waverly Wildcats series, but it can be read as a standalone.

The banter between the characters was great, but I didn’t really see the connection between them.
Also, while I like third act break ups, I want there to be grovel from the character that “messed up” and this didn’t deliver.

This was still a fun read though, and I look forward to the next book.

Catching Quinn is the second book in the Waverly Wildcats series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Quinn was a little geeky and clumsy, but I loved how straightforward she was. And she never gave up on her…main goal, despite the many setbacks thanks to Cooper.

Cooper was very flirty and playful. And he was a well-known playboy. But once he started “helping” Quinn, she was it for him.

These two had such great banter and chemistry. And I loved that they were both a little nerdy.

This was funny, but it was also emotional and angsty. It was a great story, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

These two were everything. The angst, the tension, the mutual pining? So good. And they both had their own demons, their own secrets, but they were there for each other through everything.

Raven was so strong, and she was so sweet (and sassy), despite what she’d been through.

Otto. This man. The way he put his whole heart into his family, his friends, his loved ones. Ah! He was so dang protective, especially over Raven, and not just her physical state.

The little twist — I seriously did not expect it. But wow.

I loved these two and their story. It was angsty and emotional, and it was full of healing.

Also, I can’t wait for the next book, because that little hint at what’s coming? It sounds great.

Unexpected Heroine is the second book in the Unexpected Trilogy and cannot be read as a standalone.

Tomer and Lettie have been through so much together and apart, and in this, they still have a LOT to go through.

Some moments were so heartbreaking and emotional, and some parts were pretty funny. These two are working through the aftermath of the previous book, as well as other truths that are revealed. They still don’t have their HEA, so I can’t wait for the next book.

Leo and Adelaide “Addie” had a marriage of convenience, and it was all to help Addie. She was hesitant, because she didn’t want real feelings or attachment, not after what she went through with her ex. But Leo insisted, and she eventually agreed.

The way Leo had zero hesitations when it came to Addie was so swoony. And the way he was with her kids? Ugh, seriously so dang cute. Ooh, and he was really a golden retriever, but when it came to his “wife and kids” well, he was so protective.

Addie definitely got stronger and healed, all because Leo refused to give up on her. And he proved to her over and over that he would always be there.

This was such a great addition to the series, and I cannot wait to see what’s next.

Waiting on You is the third book in the Love & Whiskey series, but it can be read as a standalone.

This was very insta-love, but it was so cute.

Nate and Paige spent five days together after she caught her boyfriend cheating. And during that time, they fell in love, but they ended up going their separate ways. Paige had too many walls up to truly trust Nate, so he agreed to let her go at that time. But he couldn’t get over her, so he “found”
her, and it turned out that she was pregnant.

I loved Nate so much! He was sweet and swoony, and he really was all in from day one. And when he found out about the baby? He was excited and ready to be there for everything.

Paige had a lot to work through, but she finally did. And she got the closure she needed with the help of Nate.

This was a cute secret baby romance. It was a little angsty, but it was mostly a heartwarming read.
