Story
The name of Florence Nightingale is a household word, but the exact nature and scope of her work, and the difficulties and discouragement under which it was accomplished, are unknown to many in the present generation. This story of that justly beloved woman’s life is told by one whose father was in part responsible for Miss Nightingale’s decision to devote her life to nursing. Written with a rare sympathy and beauty of style, this uplifting account of a noble life will inspire young and old alike.

I had no idea!

We’ve all heard the name Florence Nightingale our entire lives however ,if you’re like me,you probably don’t know a thing about her or what she did during the Crimean war. Shoot, the charge of the light brigade is one of my favorite poems and I didn’t even know that was about the Crimean war. And I’m fairly well educated anyway well worth paying attention to. the book was written in 1909, so there’s that a current perspective on that war I would not miss reading it if I were you.

Story
If my childhood taught me anything, it was to survive. Now I have a deep-rooted mistrust of people and a wall of steel and ice surrounding my heart. So, when Reed Ryan steps into my life, I know I need to keep him far away. He’s everything I grew up hating. Fighting. Fleeing. Devastatingly handsome, he looks like a drunken regret and has heartbreak written over every inch of his body - literally. He’s the quintessential bad boy...and he’s a cop. But the man is my undoing.

Story
My little girl’s room is dark. Her bed is empty. I turn on her unicorn nightlight and bury my face in her pillow, my heart breaking. I know who did this. His name is Samuel Barlow. He has pale sallow skin and red-rimmed icy-blue eyes. But no one will listen. As darkness falls and rain lashes against the window, there’s a knock at my door and I open it to see those same eyes staring back at me. It’s his mother and she says she can help me find my daughter.

I love this series with the huge exception of this book. I was so looking forward to the new book and almost quit it 10 times. It was almost impossible to listen to entire chapters that were tweeter posts and responses and responses to the responses all read at hi speed and continues. There is a reason that I am not a tweeter and now I know what it is. Do yourself a favor have someone tell you the minor development of the main characters and pass on this book.
