Story
A family of four murdered in their hotel room. A single mother and her boyfriend both stabbed to death. A sordid history of violent crimes, repeated over and over - but decades apart. Olivia Barker is a therapist with no connection to the murders. But she has heard things. Stories that keep her up at night. Details that only a killer would know. A killer who could be one of her patients…Olivia has no proof for her suspicions. But as the body count rises, so do her fears. A rock is thrown through her window, her car tires are slashed, a chilling message is scrawled on her bathroom mirror.

I was treated to all four books in this series by audible "Included" and I have to say: this series is one of the best I've listened to all year. I have a new author to follow!
The narrator is great, the only question I have is why he read without the British accent when the character was supposed to have one. Other characters, including the main character's sister had accents, but the narrator (the story is first person) had none. Small gripe. I would have actually paid for the quartet, but as a gratuity, it was a huge bonus.
If you like time travel, mixed with a bit of sarcasm and wry humour, you'll enjoy this treat.

what an EPIC tale, but in a good way

I absolutely adored this 85 (?) hr saga. Although it appears long, once you start it, it becomes an old friend. As far as values go, you get a LOT of bang for your buck
(or credit). The narrator totally nails it, and gives each character a distinct voice, he brought them to life in my mind's eye.
If you like a good, lighthearted romp through space with a crew of misfits, you'll LOVE this series.

In retreat from a devastating loss and crushing injustice, Katie lives alone in a fortresslike stone house on Jacob’s Ladder island. Once a rising star in the art world, she finds refuge in her painting. The neighboring island of Ringrock houses a secret: a government research facility. And now two agents have arrived on Jacob’s Ladder in search of someone—or something—they refuse to identify. Although an air of menace hangs over these men, an infinitely greater threat has arrived, one so strange even the island animals are in a state of high alarm.

His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. This is by far the Best Stephen King novel to date! Loved the humor and the characters. It was worth a credit, hell, it was worth two.
One of the best narrations I've ever had the pleasure of listening to as well, and considering the challenges, that is saying something... you'll find out when you buy it.
(no spoilers)
Oh yeah... THERE'S A DOG, a main character dog, the whole reason the story happens really. What more could you want?

Best Grey Man yet, love the narrator, and starting to really like Cort Gentry. I enjoy all the action in these books, even though it is not realistic. The series would have ended by book two if it were. Still...very fun, and exciting.

The female lead character was SO annoying, the action was repetitive. The editor should go back to writing school; If I had a dime for every time the word "maw" was used, I could buy y'all a round of shots! By the way, if you make it to book three, you'll be needing them... kudos to Ms. Glembosky for finishing the narration of a book series that must have been painful, and tedious to lend her voice to.
Good thing it was free.
Also, the writer gets points for NOT killing the dog. Beyond that...not much to say about this series.

Is it too much to ask, that this saga be combined as a "box set"? The first book ended in mid action, and only 5 hours long. Not really a good bargain for the money.

I can't wait to finish this series! It is even more action packed, and insightful. The author has a definite grasp on what would face us with an event such as this, and the narrator is quite possibly the best, doing so many different accents with grace, and ease.
It is a book I would have willingly used a credit for, but it was included, which was a nice treat. Start with book one, because it is a series, and I suspect it is better listened to IN ORDER. Great read.
