We have short term rentals and long term rentals but none that are mid term. I thought I have enough knowledge and experience from the other types of rentals to just jump into MTRs but thought maybe I should listen to this book first and I’m so glad that I did since there are some differences with MTRs that I didn’t consider and was not very well versed on the different listing platforms outside of ABB. I really appreciate the way the author explained the differences in MTRs from the other types, the listing platforms and how to manage them differently. I definitely learned a lot and hope anyone who is interested in this space to listen to this book. Also, I appreciate that she offers a free MTR lease with the purchase of the book so I will definitely be reaching out for that.

Trigger Warning: Graphic Rape & Domestic Violence Scenes

This book is very triggering if you are sensitive to graphic descriptions of rape and domestic abuse. There are many disturbing events described throughout the book and is difficult to listen to. I am very sorry about everything she went through in her life and admire her spirit of perseverance but it is not a pleasant listen in my opinion. The timeline jumps around and is hard to follow at times. I would have appreciated less emphasis on bad relationships, trauma, abuse and abandonment and more emphasis on how she achieved her success and business acumen. While I appreciate her honesty while sharing her story and hope she has found better relationships, she is also showing the world that she was not able to learn from her mistakes and will put up with anything from a man, no matter how badly they treated her, which sounds like it stemmed from her childhood sexual assaults. It does require a great deal of vulnerability to share these stories and I appreciate her honesty but its hard for me to grasp the long term consequences of abuse in childhood and understand how a smart, educated and ambitious person can allow the same things to keep happening to her over and over, that’s probably just my own lack of perspective. I also can’t help but wonder where her kids were when all of these things were going on, I hope her kids are not traumatized by watching their mom endure so much. She kept says she wants them to have their fathers in their lives but doesn’t seem to consider that having their rapist, violent and/or criminal fathers in their lives may not be beneficial for them. I just don’t really understand her reasoning at times but I do respect how strong she has been through it all and that she has so much love and forgiveness in her heart. I hope she can someday heal and make better decisions.

I am a long time investor in mostly real estate and some ETFs. Although I really appreciated his in-depth analysis of stocks, cash, mutual funds and ETFs and how they should be implemented with different strategies based on where one is in their life, I really think he should have included real estate in that strategy as I would have been very interested to hear his thoughts on how to incorporate both the stock market and real estate investing strategies as part of a broader plan. I learned a lot from this book and would urge both newer and seasoned investors to listen to it, I would just suggest also learning about real estate separately as it is a powerful wealth building tool that should not be overlooked.

While the overall message that cancer is a metabolic disease is true and well-studied, some of the content of this book is misleading and in some cases ignores research that contradicts some of the messaging. For example, there is strong evidence that fasting and low carb eating are very beneficial for preventing and treating cancer but the author completely ignores that evidence. The political commentary he makes about climate change and health is entirely misleading and also contradicts evidence in peer reviewed studies. Implying that climate change is only about CO2 levels in the atmosphere and there are no other pollutants that damage health is false and a dangerous message. There was some interesting and good quality information provided but a lot was left out and/or misrepresented. I would recommend this book but in a larger context of other information and taken with a grain of salt.

This book had some helpful info and but almost no “laws” of business credit that the title indicates. A large part of the book was the narrator reading websites for every single state office, credit companies phone numbers and websites and other information that could’ve been included in a pdf for reference. It seems like the author intentionally took up time reading websites and phone numbers that people can look up on their own because he didn’t have anything else of value to say so he wanted to increase the length of the book by having the narrator spend so much time reading that stuff. Learned very little and came away from the book rather annoyed.

I’ve been following 50’s career on and off since his first album came out when I was an undergrad. I have always liked and respected his work, especially when we partnered with Robert Greene for the 50th Law, another phenomenal book. This is the first time, though, I feel like I really get him and his character and I have to say I respect him even more after listening to this book. His attitude of focus on constantly growing and adapting is inspiring since it’s so easy to be change averse and run away from risk, makes me want to be better in everything I do. I listen to about 70 books a year while working out, on long drives or when just doing house work and this is definitely in the top 5 for me.

The title of this book is misleading as one would expect it to discuss learning about and obtaining business credit but it never even mentioned the topic. The content was otherwise very basic and not exactly a “secret”. It was misleading and I’ll be returning it.

I almost didn’t try this podcast since it had one bad review. Im glad I gave it a try, I started from the beginning and am 4 episodes in and love it. The host asks excellent questions and is clearly very knowledgeable and the guests are very experienced and share great information. I have 1 STR and am in the process of building another one since the first is doing so well and am finding this information extremely helpful as I build my portfolio in this space. I’ve only been doing it for about 8 months so there is a lot I need to learn and am finding the kind of information I need here.
