Look Eli Wallach is a national treasure. His voice sounds like a refined gentlemen from another era--probably because he was. The book is one of King's best. It ties into The Dark Tower, the over all Derry storyline in Kings other work and takes you places you don't expect.

So why did I give the overall rating 1 star? The music. Yes, you read that correctly, the music. There is some meth addled Jazz that permeates the performance and overrides Wallach's narration. I literally wanted to build a time machine, find the recording studio (get Wallach's autograph and take a selfie) then beat the sound engineer and music editor until they soiled their pants. Ok, perhaps a little extreme I will take my meds and settle down now, but the music is THAT jarring...it overrides the story and Wallach's voice and seems obtuse, out of place and permeates the entire performance. If I had the time I would get the audio file import it into garage band and fix this problem....I hate douce canoes that ruin stuff and this sound engineer and music editor ruined an othewise great story and strong performance.

I feel like this might be abridged. I am not positive but it felt rushed and short. If you watch the Vince Lombardi "A Football Life" you will get most of the information contained in this book.
