Story
Ex-deputy US Marshal Axel Blaze is doing what he knows best—dealing with trouble. Ten years in the special forces and five years in the US Marshals have made Blaze a trained investigator and expert in combat. Blaze does not fight his opponents; he puts them down. He strikes first. And hard. Takes them out. Fast. Deputy Marshal Carter has gone missing in Little Butte, Nevada. The Dawsons own the town. The Mexican cartel is moving in on their meth business.

Average at best story. Not Reacher and not Bosch. Story was weak, predictable and expected. Narration was terrible. Attempts at different voices and accents made it sound stupid. Get a different narrator. I will not be getting anymore in this series of books.

Story
Working on the case, LAPD detective Harry Bosch is reminded of the primal police rule he learned long ago: Don't look for the facts, but the glue that holds them together. Soon Harry's making some very dangerous connections, starting with a dead cop and leading to a bloody string of murders that wind from Hollywood Boulevard to the back alleys south of the border.

Narration is terrible.

The lousy narration, after listening to Titus Welliver narrate the black echo what a let down to hear this guy. The story is still Michael Connelly but should have had a better narrator. If the narrator is the same in subsequent books I’ll skip them
