Story
Andrea Canton is the sexy, sultry-voiced actress of Freddie Nguyen's dreams—especially given her TV police show is dripping with lesbian subtext. A series of awkward and amusing chance encounters at a fan convention lead Freddie to wonder the incredible: What if Andrea isn't as straight as she seems? And what if she's actually charmed by Freddie and all her clumsy, earnest, foot-in-mouth ways?

Low key loved this book

This book was really enjoyable. It wasn’t brilliant but it was solid writing, nicely paced, and incredibly tender and kind. The MCs just liked each other throughout the whole book and treated each other with respect and care. There was certainly an arc to the plot; they faced some tough challenges together, but overall it was a pretty low conflict read, which was just what I needed. Very warm and fuzzy.

One of my favorites

I love this book so much, and I love Edanna so much. I go back to this book as one of my favorites over and over again. The build up is just perfect, the characters are mature and kind, and the couple of spicy bits are hot and tender. And the performance is amazing, as Quinn Riley always is. It’s really just sapphic romance perfection.

Story
Ellie Beckett's life is simple and uncomplicated; she's on track to become a leading expert in biomedical engineering, she has a pub where she feels comfortable enough to hang out multiple times a week, and so what if she doesn't have time for . . . people? She doesn't need or want them. Until she meets Mia Sharpe. As it turns out, maybe Ellie does want at least one person.

New favorite

This is a new favorite and I can’t stop keep re-listening. I love these characters so much. Especially Ellie and Mia, but also Gianna and Riley. They’re all just so sweet, and seem like really amazing people.
I love the way the story is told in what seems to be Ellie’s voice; even though it’s told in third person, it feels like you’re hearing her thoughts.
And Lori Price really brings the characters to life. I appreciate the emotion she brings to the performance. Lori has really grown on me as I’ve listened to a handful of the books she’s narrated. I know she has a huge fan base, but it did take me some time to adjust to how… enthusiastic(?) (loud?) some of her voices for characters are. I started with “Those Who Wait” and I loved the book, but the narration (also by Lori) grated on me at first. But I think it works to illustrate how the main characters likely perceive the people around them.
Overall, I love this audiobook and I’m really looking forward to the next one with these characters!
