Story
The Briscoe family is once again the talk of their small town when March returns to East Texas two years after he was caught having an affair with his brother's wife. His mother, June, hardly welcomes him back with open arms. Her husband's own past affairs have made her tired of being the long-suffering spouse. Is it, perhaps, time for a change? Within days of March's arrival, someone is dead, marriages are upended, and even the strongest of alliances are shattered. In the end, the ties that hold them together might be exactly what drag them all down.

I absolutely loved this retelling of Greek myth. It's clever, funny, and so so good.

Story
Who are the Sawkill Girls? Marion: The newbie. Awkward and plain, steady and dependable. Zoey: The pariah. Luckless and lonely, hurting but hiding it. Aching with grief and dreaming of vanished girls. Val: The queen bee. Their stories come together on the island of Sawkill Rock, where gleaming horses graze in rolling pastures and cold waves crash against black cliffs. Where kids whisper the legend of an insidious monster at parties and around campfires. Where girls have been disappearing for decades, stolen away by a ravenous evil no one has dared to fight…until now.

I so deeply love this book! It's spooky and creates a greater horror story while also giving you fascinating heroines to root for and love. The narration is so great too!

Interesting, but ultimately confusing
Reviewed: 01-30-20
This is a wonderful work of metafiction that delivers some wonderful twists. The first twist is really interesting and surprising, but the third one is honestly a little confusing. The third part of this novel really takes away from the endingnif the story. I wish it hadn't been included in the novel.

This is a really great recording of the original play. The cast was so great, and they add in background sounds to enhance it. Really great.
