Story
The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. As I show her inside, I notice her eyes grow wide as she takes in our spacious hallway, and the big squashy sofas that we all used to pile on. She glances at the silver-framed family photos and my little daughter hiding behind my skirts. She looks at me, her blue eyes serious. ‘I’m sorry’ she says. ‘I am your husband’s girlfriend. And this is his son.'

It took some time for the story to get exciting.
I did love the main voice actresses' performance.
I was left wanting more at the end.
Main character was unintelligent, though.

First I want to say that I really enjoyed the performance of this audio book.
This book was overwhelming at times. I had to pause at certain moments. It was stuck between not wanting to stop listening and knowing I had to take a break. There were a few very disturbing parts which lead me to taking the breaks. This book torn my mind apart in a good way. I find myself slightly at a loss for words.
The book starts off intense and I don't feel that it ever stopped being intense for me. It definitely evoked a variety of emotions inside me.
This will be my first book by this author but it will not be my last!

Alyssa Gardner has been down the rabbit hole. She was crowned Queen of the Red Court and faced the bandersnatch. She saved the life of Jeb, the boy she loves, and escaped the machinations of the disturbingly appealing Morpheus. Now all she has to do is graduate high school. That would be easier without her mother, freshly released from an asylum, acting overly protective and suspicious.

I love the love triangle that has been created and trickled into the second book. If you love Wonderland this is definitely the book series for you.

Story
This stunning debut captures the grotesque madness of Underland, as well as a girl’s pangs of first love and independence. Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers - precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

First off the cover Art on this book series can not be praised enough. It was the main thing that drew me in. Seriously the colors pop and yet there is a dark element to them at the same time. Bravo 👏 to the Artist.
As for the story, wow! This wrapped me up and wouldn't let me go. I listen to my books while I paint and the beginning chapters had me looking over my shoulder occasionally 😅. I love that there was an element of reality with the fantasy. The Lewis Carol mention was perfect. I was highly fascinated by the real events surrounding the book and have researched the topic myself.
This book did an excellent job of bring the events to life in my mind. The description of colors even made imagining the world of wonderland easy.
I am starting the next book and can't wait for more.

Well I have to be as honest and say the last book is the best so far. This serious keeps adding more mysteries in the mix. I can not wait for the next book. I was happy that there was finally some romance development for the main character in this book.
I would write more but I'm too excited tread the next one. I wanted to show my support though. I found this series very unique and I deserves praise.
