Tensions between the fae and humans are coming to a head. And when coyote shapeshifter Mercy and her Alpha werewolf mate, Adam, are called upon to stop a rampaging troll, they find themselves with something that could be used to make the fae back down and forestall out-and-out war: a human child stolen long ago by the fae.

Mercy Thompson series is one of my all time favorite found family, urban fantasy adventure series.
It’s so good. A series filled with mystery, unpredictable plot, character growth and masterful storytelling. The narration is wonderfully done as well.
I can’t wait for more.

Story
Criss Cross finds the ghosts surrounding Victor getting awfully pushy. The medications that Victor usually takes to control his abilities are threatening to destroy his liver, and his new meds aren't any more effective than sugar pills. Vic is also adjusting to a new PsyCop partner, a mild-mannered guy named Roger with all the personality of white bread. At least he's willing to spring for the Starbucks.

I’m enjoying the series, however, Vic can be frustratingly naive. I’m also not a fan of purposeful miscommunication. So while I’m enjoying listening to this series, I’m hoping it gets better individually with Vic and Jacob and them as a couple.

Story
Victor Bayne, the psychic half a PsyCop team, is a gay medium who's more concerned with flying under the radar than in making waves. He hooks up with handsome Jacob Marks, a non-psychic (or "Stiff") from an adjacent precinct at his ex-partner's retirement party, and it seems like his dubious luck has taken a turn for the better. But then a serial killer surfaces who can change his appearance to match any witness' idea of the world's hottest guy.

I’ve been meaning to get on this series and it seems like something I’d be really into.
Vic seems a bit mid for a powerful psychic so I’m hoping his character growth will be happening all throughout the series.
But I enjoyed the first book so far.

The only downside is me just craving for more of the Manos family stories.

For years, one man has been charged with maintaining that balance - Poe. The air of mystery surrounding Poe is one of necessity. He's the keeper of secrets, and for good reason. Billy gets his HEA!! What I love most about this story is the foundation of enemies to reluctant partners to lovers was so evident. They didn’t just ‘fall’. The animosity was there but so was the reluctant attraction.
Engaging story with talented narrators. This series just keeps getting better!
