Story
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

“Music” is horrible
Reviewed: 01-14-25
The story is great like most of Stephen King books. It’s far overshadowed by the absolutely terrible sound effects that randomly play throughout this book. The are extremely distracting and were way to loud. At time it made it an actual chore to make it through the book. I wanted to power through to be able to finish, but whoever thought that the stupid sounds was a good idea needs to be throat punched twice. The narrator does a great job too, but man those sound effects suck. Made an absolutely amazing story into a book that I will never listen to again unless there is an alternate recording available.

Found this by searching “omnibus”. I love long books so that they feel like they are worth my credit. I listen for 10+ hours a day so I cruise through books, this one was great from the start. I hope that there is a 10th book soon because it definitely ended like there was going to be another. This book was amazing. I loved the characters and how it didn’t try to make the Norse characters into the Marvel versions of them. Well worth the listen! Highly recommend!

Possible spoilers!
I absolutely loved this book! I loved how it tied on so well with other novels in the Cosme te, specifically the stormlight archive. I’ve only read stormlight and the mistborn books so far, so there might be other books that tie in as well but it was fun to see so much come together. The ending also definitely left it open for another mistborn series to open up. Highly recommend!

He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. Wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, but had a good friend recommend it and gave it a whirl.
This book was so good. I wish it was 100 hrs long. I Didn’t want it to ever end. I think the reason that I liked it so much is because the writing style is so similar to that of Garen Whited.
I can’t recommend this book enough!

HORRIBLE narration
Reviewed: 11-24-21
The book has great material but OH. MY. GOODNESS. was the narrator bad. It seriously sounded like Siri or Alexa was reading this book. It was so so so distracting the entire time. I didn’t even know it was posible to be this bad at narrating a book. I would give this book 5 stars if virtually ANY other person narrated this book.
Now other than that, loved the book. It is very repetitive. I think it repeats the same thing in pretty much every chapter. But repetition is that helps you remember so it’s good. Recommend the book and recommend that the narrator find another job.

great story, performance difficult
Reviewed: 10-29-21
the story was awesome. but the multiple narrators were very confusing. not because there were multiple, but because they were random. there are parts were there were two different people that voiced the same character in the same sentence. literally swapped narrators mid sentence for the same person. they all were good but it was very difficult to not be distracted by it. Especially the Barron's voice. all the comments said this, but I've liked books with multiple narratprs. but those books had a specific voice for each character, not just random people saying random characters. too had, the story was so good. I wish there was another version without all the different narrators.
