Story
Alice and her crew are doing their best to recover from the last boss battle, but some of them keep having these. . . dreams: visions of a dark past—and an even darker future. Sadly, the evil in Wonderland may not be as defeated as they’d hoped. Attacked by Nightmares unlike any they’ve ever seen, Alice will have to step between the coming darkness and the mortal world once more. But this time is different. This time, the monsters aren’t waiting for her on the other side of the Veil.

the first book was just okay for me. not bad just okay. it felt all over the place to me.. the second one was a good deal more focused and I loved what was happening with Chess's character development. the third book WOW!!!! I love that Nanna Kay was the link. I thought there was something with Alice's dad, like maybe he was a dream walker and the like but Nanna K being the red queen....YES. just phenomenal. I do hope there is another book. you can't leave us hanging with Addison, chess and Humpphrey not remembering. amd I would love to know more about this splitting that the first nightmare spoke of. I assume Chess and Humphrey are like split Humphreys. chess is a lot like what Addison says Humphrey was like. still a lot of losses ends. looking forward to them being tied.

I love Davina...
Reviewed: 10-30-23
I'm however am not a friend of Grants. I'm unsure as to why no one is seeing that he was obsessive to a crazy level. what Davinas father did was DISGUTING beyond belief and he got better than what he deserved in my opinion BUT she was 16 wth did he expect her to do? you knew her for all of 2 months. calm all the way down. and he was a manipulative POS. as was her aunt. at no point t I. time is it okay to hold a child responsible for things their parents did. so why Grant amd Linc thought it was okay to blame Davina for trying to PROTECT Grant is beyond me.

Abomination. That's what Thomas Brewster's father decreed him before he took his first breath. He'd always feared it to be true, then fate sent him a blessing in the form of his first love, Louella Kemp. They were inseparable and planned to spend forever together. The NBA superstar was on top of the world. Until the unthinkable happened. In the blink of an eye, he lost everything, proving the curse was real.

I did not care for Jade. she was childish, bratty, hard headed and selfish. EVERYTHING was about her.
she moved to Tommy's because she browbeat him and it's what SHE wanted.
SHE wanted her brother to accept Tommy because SHE wanted. she was willing to give up the brother who protected her, WHO TOOK BLOWS FOR HER her entire life because of what SHE wanted. she took a child away from its father because SHE didn't want to be bothered. and she expected EVERYONE to do what she wanted because SHE WANTED. she wanted her cake and eat it to. she was more concerned with her and no one but. she was more concerned with Ella than the concern that her brother rightly had. She's a close second to Grant for me who I also didn't like. I know it's supposed to ne a story of redemption and for Tommy, it kind of is. For Jade, it's a brat getting what she wants.
I'm also not a fan of the narrator more so not for this novel. Partly because I'm used to two narrators and secondly because her voice is more for teens than adults. she makes adults sound like kids and men sound like reedy voiced nerds. she'd be great for a young adult novel.

I have read and reread this book a plethora of times since I bought it this year. I ordered a copy for my best friend and pre-orders the sequel for both her and myself. it is an interesting retelling and done in such a way that I can see everything that I heat and read. the narration was phenomenal. I've found a NEW FAVORITE AUTHOR

loved it! I'm not usually a fan of detective DD Warren I read all of her novels and the novels are great just the character herself I don't care for this time I actually liked her. and that's pretty hard because I I was sure that my opinion of her was set in stone. But she redeemed herself this time awesome book again Lisa Gardner is one of my favorite authors
