Story
Nargassus is in trouble from the evil Sinisters. A prophecy says that a boy who is able to control the four elements of earth, fire, air and water will be able to restore peace to the land and defeat evil. Cameron has these extra-special abilities and is sent on a mission to find the Sinisters with his two friends Anna and Sam. Anna is able to see visions of the future, and Sam has navigating powers. The children's search for the Sinisters leads them to a fortress where they meet Electro. Can they win against his lightning powers?

Would you listen to The Fortress again? Why?
No, my son barely got through the first chapter. The title & story sounded promising but the voice reading the story was boring and made the story flat. This one may have to be read by ourselves!

Story
Twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school...again. No matter how hard he tries, he can't seem to stay out of trouble. But can he really be expected to stand by and watch while a bully picks on his scrawny best friend? Or not defend himself against his pre-algebra teacher when she turns into a monster and tries to kill him? Of course, no one believes Percy about the monster incident; he's not even sure he believes himself.

What made the experience of listening to The Lightning Thief the most enjoyable?
My son really enjoyed the story of course but said the best part or what was important to him, was the voice used to read the story. Their vernacular made the story that much more exciting & engaging.
Have you listened to any of Jesse Bernstein’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
We are now reading the 2nd book in this series "The Sea of Monsters"
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Laugh
