Story
Erik Weihenmayer is the first and only blind person to summit Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth. Descending carefully, he and his team picked their way across deep crevasses and through the deadly Khumbu Icefall; when the mountain was finally behind him, Erik knew he was going to live. His expedition leader slapped him on the back and said something that would affect the course of Erik’s life: “Don’t make Everest the greatest thing you ever do.” No Barriers is Erik’s response to that challenge.

More Than the Kayak Trip
Reviewed: 05-31-19
The majority of this story is not the kayaking trip, but a collection of events, failures, successes, and inspiring people.
It speaks of suffering and figuring out solutions, going forward with loss, and the author goes into how inspired he is to keep going.
I was moved by the many stories and how inspiration is given and taken, how we can all not feel trapped and overcome barriers regardless of physical condition and the circumstances around us.

Story
In 1945, in a now-famous piece of World War II archival footage, four-year-old Michael Bornstein was filmed by Soviet soldiers as he was carried out of Auschwitz in his grandmother's arms. Survivors Club tells the unforgettable story of how a father's courageous wit, a mother's fierce love, and one perfectly timed illness saved his life and how others in his family from Zarki, Poland, dodged death at the hands of the Nazis time and again with incredible deftness.

A moving real life story set up in an comprehensive narrative
Reviewed: 10-22-18
Despite thinking it would be rude to criticize n account like this, I don’t have any dislikes in the book or audio book.
This memoir account is set up like a story for ease of keeping up with details and the authors have taken a lot of work and research to fill out the events. Although the perspective is written from Michael, the information is from many sources. It’s a rare chance to get a large cohesive picture of this lifetime.
Thank you for sharing this and for collaborating with others to share as well.
I will continue to pass on and get copies for others.

Very entertaining and enticing.

Story is well read and entertaining. The descriptive style of the author is concise but also gives nice reminders to keep the story flowing and not distract from the emotion. Also the audible version has a preview of book two at the end! Thank you!

Story
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Moving Performance and Gripping Story
Reviewed: 12-07-16
Will Wheaton really brings the characters to life and gives a heart touching personal feel to the story. Anyone who has fond memories of geek culture from the 70s and 80s (even some 90s) should get a kick out of the references. The tone of how the world had depreciated is reminded to the reader often enough, but it really touched me on how it talked about many of the feelings I've had in wanting to escape, wanting to win, and wanting to feel important all while hiding away. The strings of aged references go on for awhile especially in the beginning, but I encourage to stick through them and endure, because they help build up a very sincere love and care that pays off at the end. A virtual Willy Wonka in some ways, but with more hardships than just poverty.
