Enjoyable listen

Enjoyed the book, exposed me to a life I drive through but never experience. The author was able to insert himself into a culture much different than his normal life and presented an unbiased look into another world.
Nothing extrodinary happens during the book but it is a relaxing deep listen to what life is like out there……wherever that may be. There are many places like this in America.

Story
Brandi Carlile was born into a musically gifted, impoverished family on the outskirts of Seattle and grew up in a constant state of change, moving from house to house, trailer to trailer, 14 times in as many years. Though imperfect in every way, her dysfunctional childhood was as beautiful as it was strange, and as nurturing as it was difficult. At the age of five, Brandi contracted bacterial meningitis, which almost took her life, leaving an indelible mark on her formative years and altering her journey into young adulthood.

Not even a huge fan and loved it immensely

I decided to listen to this book because my daughter plays her music often. I stopped more than a few times over three days of gardening to cry a little, laugh a lot. It was the best book I have listened to in a very long time.

Story
In the tradition of Into the Wild comes an instant classic of outdoor literature, a riveting work of uncommon depth. I’m planning on doing four days in the jungle.... It should be difficult to get lost forever: These were the haunting last words legendary adventurer Roman Dial received from his son, before the 27-year old disappeared into the jungles of Costa Rica. This is Dial's intensely gripping and deeply moving account of his two-year quest to unravel the mystery of his son's fate.

I enjoyed this book, inspired me to travel more with my young kids. Started off a little slow and voice was a little monotone but it picked up and was great by the end. Thank you for sharing your story.
