Give me my Freedom!
Reviewed: 10-28-22
I read this first (which is saying a lot cuz I don't read) and now that it's out on audio, you know I had to get it. And to have my 2 favorite narrators on as Isis and Freedom...just took it to a whole other level! Kema B wrote this story and the characters so well that having Wesleigh and Emmanuel narrate it just brought every emotion and entire story to LIFE! This will be one of the stories I will have on repeat...on Round 2 of listening as I type this review. Highly recommend this book...go get it NOW!

Beautifully written story of trauma and surviving it and finding love in the process. I loved how they showed every stage of Syncere's experience and how she received help, encouragement and love. And King...damn...I want me a King Cartwright! His unconditional love for Syncere was everything and felt throughout the book. And of course our girl Wesleigh narrated this with all her emotions in it...girl you made me cry! Just beautiful and highly recommend this to everyone!

Sly smirk. Heated glance. I knew I was hooked from the first moment our eyes connected. But I'm not the type of woman to give in easily. Especially when his offer is dripping in rule breaking notions threatening to consume me.

Took me long enough to start this book because I heard it was a difficult listen but was so worth it! And I agree, #LongShot was amazing and well written by none other than Kennedy Ryan. Loved me some August (narrated by Sean Crisden) and Iris (narrated by Jo Raylan) and never have I ever wanted to kill a character so much...Caleb made my blood boil! Highly recommend this book...just a warning...it talks about physical and sexual abuse. #AuthorMotivated #NarratorMotivated #AHoopsNovel #LongShot #Book1

Story
Chastity Jeffries and Xavier King come from very different backgrounds, though they have one thing in common: they’re both living with family secrets. Chastity is the only child of a prominent pastor and has been raised with privilege, but her father’s testimony as a philanderer and her mom’s role as dutiful wife have tainted her view of love. Xavier never knew his father, and his mother abandoned him. His grandmother raised him in a household built on cruelty and violence instead of love and acceptance, instilling in him a fear of abandonment and an enormous sense of insecurity.

What did I just listen to?
Reviewed: 09-30-21
This was a first for me from this author. I don't know what or how I should feel about it. There were definite physical abuse warnings for people that may be triggered. This is definitely not a romance novel. The ending for me was terrible and left a lot of questions unanswered. All I have to say is that I'm glad Chastity was able to move on from Xavier. As for the narrators, I like Adenrele Ojo, but her voice this time was too monotone for me as Chastity. No complaints about Landon Woodson. I think he did a great job as Xavier and portraying him as normal, crazy, angry and happy as well as the other characters. Also loved how he acted and sang throughout the book which made listening to it much better. Will definitely check more of his work.

Loved Carter's and Serenity's wedding and Carter's letters to his sis-in-laws ❤❤❤ Catching up with the families is always a plus for me! Great ending to the Madden series! Sean Crisden and Wesleigh Siobhan did great in narrating. Took me a bit to get used to the new voices since the series was done by Jakobi and Mari. Both did great and you can never go wrong with Wesleigh.

For Carter Madden, his time in the military isn't the only thing that haunts him. For Serenity Taylor, unanswered questions can drive a sane mind mad with speculation. But a Madden man may not be for every woman, especially when broken promises cut deep and unknown secrets whisper loudly in the dark.

Caden Madden is the epitome of a Southern gentleman. Polite. Respectable. With an undeniable sexiness and country-bred abs that could only be the result of a hardworking rancher. The only thing you can't rely on this cowboy for is relationship advice. No woman has ever come close to making him want to settle down...until her.

This is a new-to-me author...but man...did she ever speak to me! 40 year old business woman trying to get her life together again after a heartbreak. I'm not all that into age-gap romance, but this was an exception. They faced a lot of obstacles and had to grow up and accept some of the challenges and move on. Just read it...better yet...LISTEN to it! Wesleigh Siobhan solo narrates this book and was amazing! Her voices as Jenna and her friends (Elody and Billie) were so good that you could tell which friend is speaking. And don't get me started about her male voice for Eric! She had me swooning over this man (who is now my new book bae). The story and the way Wesleigh delivered it was *chef's kiss" made me feel like I was watching a movie! Highly recommend this book to everyone and a definite re-listen for me!
