Why, he’ll never even know she is there. Until he shows up in London too, and Cassandra finds herself sharing a house with the most infuriating man in England. Joshua DeWitt has his life exactly how he wants it. He has no need of a wife disrupting everything.

definitely struggled to finish it. Can't recommend this book it all. The descriptive content and story line weren't enough for the length of the novel.

Story
History has all but forgotten.... In the spring of 1708, an invading Jacobite fleet of French and Scottish soldiers nearly succeeded in landing the exiled James Stewart in Scotland to reclaim his crown. Now, Carrie McClelland hopes to turn that story into her next best-selling novel. Settling herself in the shadow of Slains Castle, she creates a heroine named for one of her own ancestors and starts to write. But then she discovers her novel is more fact than fiction....

I had to slow down my listening of this book. I really don't want it to end. I wanted to savor every moody bit of it.
The weather, the landscape and the ghosts are some of the best characters in this story. I'm also a real sucker for the idea of a place holding the memory of the people who once populated it. I truly recommend this audio book to historical romance readers to listen to and/ or read.
