the fact that there were no consequences is disturbing. I could definitely have thought of a better ending. the writing and performance is okay, but none of the characters have any redeeming qualities. most of them are pretty sleazy including the protagonist as it turns out.

i struggled a bit on this. mainly because all the information seemed to all run together. details were overtly given too familiar of character for such crypto subject matter. reminds me of the techniques used by "professional" psychics...extremely broad descriptions that can cover any misspoken detail. i was looking for something more scientific and evidence based.
Entertaining somewhat but not to be taken seriously.

The book is okay. I question a lot of his interpretation of the Urantia book, as this is what this purports to be. In several points of the book he seems to show a distinct racial bias and being that the actual book does not go into The social characteristics of different genetic species in an opinionated format I have to assume that those tangents are of the author personal beliefs.
The narration is not good at all. It seems he is distracted at times and extremely loose and cavalier. I questioned at times if he even took it seriously himself.
I like the book because I like the subject, Beyond that it's okay.

My main issue with the book is not the information that it is delivering. My first issue is the editing, This book could have been condensed down by at least twenty-five percent, if not a little more. It is quite repetitive and diverts away into non-essential information. Make the point and keep it moving...
My second issue is the narrator, He has a halted pause and sometimes staccato delivery that can become fatiguing at times. He, however, is a very capable and articulate speaker and uses good diction. It just seems forced when he keeps it going. Sometimes, he animates and shows too much emotion for a nonfiction format.
A great deal of the research done is very convincing... Some of it raised my eyebrow... Much of it you can look at society and the examples in this world are right in front of your eyes, Some of it you have to dig a little deeper and research on your own.
There are scholars on both sides of this issue, Most of the criticism I hear about this book is the overall book in general... I do not hear any theologian or person of religious background dispute or debunk the actual information the book contains. That would be a more convincing opposition than trying to cancel the book outright as well as people who choose to purport its message.

good stories in this book. i don't care for the narration very much. theres nothing wrong with it really, he does a very good job abd is professionalandarticulate...it just sounds like he's talking "jive". in an almost 70s urban dialect. it sounds a little patronizing. i know Dick Gregory's timing and this throws me off ftom hearing it in his voice. i was expecting a more monotoned type
but the narrator is totally fine, this is a personal thing in this instance...this way may be preferred by the majority of listeners. he does a good job.

I live in the Alton Illinois area and I found the information and detail of this book fascinating. the names and landmarks mentioned describe the rich history of the area...a shame that so much of the racial ugliness that he faced and ultimately murdered him still exists today.

this was okay but it it was way too descriptive. the narrator does a good job but the manuscript word count could be cut by 25% and not affect the story...

the only thing I have to say about this that is bad is dealing with the format of the audiobook. I don't understand why they can't separate the stories into separate chapters. there's barely a pause in between different stories and sometimes you can't tell when one story ends and another begins. if they can't separate it in the performance they could at least separate it in the chapter setting.

very good story. enough plot twists to keep you listening and or turning pages whichever the case may be. narrator is a little bit breathy but despite that she is very good. Laura Lippmann and Susan Bennett are a very good combination. I will definitely look for more works by the both of them and definitely when they are in a pair
I never give five stars across the board to any book, but I will give this all 4s across the board which is my highest rating.

very comprehensive on many levels, not just the killing itself. characters well defined, aspects from different cultural viewpoints. shame that people allow religious dogma to justify delusion. tragic story overall but done well.
