Story
No one had ever looked at her and seen perfection - until now. Delicate, titian-haired Theresa Noble has met her father’s associates in the past, but the gorgeous, Italian-born Sandro De Lucci leaves her speechless. Eighteen months into their marriage, however, Sandro has turned to ice. Desperate to escape a relationship that has proven to be as stubbornly passionate as it is cold and hateful, Theresa summons up the courage to ask for a divorce. But before he’ll grant her request, Sandro demands something from Theresa: a son.

Story
What can be worse than electrocuting yourself while getting ready for your internet date? Realizing the hot stud you've been fondling is the Grim Reaper? Being chased by a sex-crazed bloated, naked corpse? How about an eternity of more bad hair days and horrific dates? Or lusting after the one guy in all the afterlife whose hydrophobia rivals his fear of commitment? Yeah, that's a whole lot worse.

I was honestly expecting a rom-com but got so much more. The story was still fun and flirty but with a hidden depth of emotion and thought provoking existentialism. This is easily one of my favorite reads of the year.

Story
When Sarah Taylor arrives at the exclusive St. Ambrose School, she’s carrying more baggage than just her suitcase. She knows she’s not like the other girls—if her shabby, all-black, non-designer clothes don’t give that away, the bottle of lithium hidden in her desk drawer sure does. St. Ambrose’s queen bee, Greta Stanhope, picks Sarah as a target from day one, and she is relentless in making sure Sarah knows what the pecking order is. Thankfully, Sarah makes an ally out of her roommate Ellen “Strots” Strotsberry, a cigarette-smoking, devil-may-care athlete.

While I have followed this author's works for many years, this is definitely a different genre than I've become accustomed to from her. I have no regrets in giving it a chance. I love that the featured heroine lives with a mental illness that most authors seem too scared to tackle. I also really like that the author handled such sensitive subjects with respect and dignity. Overall, it was a fantastic book, and I couldn't stop listening.
