Story
From the day it was stolen from me, I dreamed of recapturing Bebbanburg. The great fort had been built on a rock that was almost an island. It was massive; it could be approached only on land by a single narrow track; and it was mine. Britain is in a state of uneasy peace. Northumbria's Viking ruler, Sigtryggr, and Mercia's Saxon queen, Aethelflaed, have agreed to a truce. And so England's greatest warrior, Uhtred of Bebbanburg, at last has the chance to take back the home his traitorous uncle stole from him so many years ago.

I love all of this story. it satisfied my eternal curiosity of. a time so lost in history. I am a christian who has often wondered how the "church " got Jesus's message so screwed up. but.there were those who had it right. a true loving God has changed the hearts of men as the story shows. what happened to the "Vikings" some have asked why the became Christians. but as time will show, men who hide behind the cruelty of greedy men and with vile lust for power, control and NOT true Christian love will tramp upon people who are trusting a d weaker, hurt women and use them for their own lust in the name of Jesus (Yeshua) will find themselves facing the words of G_d. Depart from Me, I never knew you. thank you Bernard Comwell , I Loved your books. the narration was awesome !!!

I enjoyed each moment of all 6 volumes and listened with rapt attention, not wanting to miss anything. some was more than I personally would have liked to heard, the sexually explicit parts and I did skip over those. The story was well presented and I feel the heart of the matter was what I enjoyed most. I actually worried for the characters at times. I loved the historical aspects, almost like I could see them happening. The narration was such that I fell asleep listening and woke up to go over it all again thank you all. if there were another, I would be excited to hear how the characters lives would continue. oh and to hear the life of someone deaf, during that time period was inspiring. very well done
